Nice overnight

Friendly staff comfortable atmosphere. One of the nicest hotels I've have the pleasure of staying at. My girl and I will definitely be booking again.

Very Nice and Comfor table.

The room I got is King size. The front desk agent upgraded the room to superior room which is bigger and the bathroom is bigger. There was stain on the wall but it’s no biggie. overall, the experience was nice and enjoyable.

What do you expect?

Pros: It was cheap.
Cons: Maybe a good idea to clean the brown splashes off the wall.
Location: Visit lovely ex-urban detroit. You're probably here for work. There's a steak and shake in walking distance.
Red Roof is solidly a $50/night hotel. The beds are uncomfortable and squeaky, there was a mysterious brown splash stain on the wall (no coffee maker in the room, so I'm not sure what it was...), and the heating controls seemed to be for show, as my heater was on no matter what. That said, it was indoors, the plumbing worked, and I didn't see any pests. It was a place to sleep.

Dirt and bugs!!

Pros: It's location.
Cons: Some staff training , maintenance, and housekeeping!!
I've stayed before here a few times with some minor issues (maintenance). This time though.... ugh. When I arrived I was given a room that directly adjacent to a room with a loud humming noise and a running toilet. I went back to the desk to ask for another room and the clerk gave me a 2nd room directly above the loud humming room. So in addition to the noise, the room had a terrible musty odor. The beds appeared to be made up with sheets from the previous guest and cigarette burns all over the top spread. The floor was sticky and to top it all off. THERE WERE DEAD ROACHES IN 2 LOCATIONS IN THE ROOM. 1 on the floor near the bed and a 2nd on the dresser near the tv. That was a deal breaker. I returned to the front desk and explained. The desk clerk was understanding, but not surprised. At that time I informed her that I would not be staying there and would like a refund. She stated that she wasn't authorized to give refunds, but the manager would give me a call in the morning. The call never came, so I went back up there to speak with the manager and got Expedia to intervene to assist in getting a refund.

Lack of training and communication

Room had dirt running down the walls from previous sweating...not enough towels....carpet needed vacuuming and nice air fresher....smelled of dogs. Front desk attendant assigned my room to another couple after I had checked in and was laying in bed wit my husband around 12:30, we heard someone tryijng to get in our room...call front desk and received a nonchalant "sorry"....very disappointed in my stay

Disgusting. Cigarette burns on the walls, bathtub, and blankets. Rooms also smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and marijuana. Puke in walkways and condom wrappers.

Horrible stay people out side all day and night loud and banging against the wall. Blood stang was on my bed sheets. Didn’t get a % off for that.

Only if you really need a cheap stay

First. The lady at the front desk was fantastic. Very friendly. She really knew her job and was very efficient. The room was recently remodeled but already showed signs of wear and tear. Someone left the heat on high and the room was very hot. It was 75 this day and took an hour to cool down. The lot was very dark as it was night time when I checked in. The parking lot lights didn't seem to all be working. I realize this isn't a 5 star hotel but it left a lot to be desired.
