Little closet space or drawer space for clothes. TV didn't work correctly. Had to call housekeeping just to get glasses for the bathroom. Housekeeping frequently forgot to leave necessary bathroom items each day when they cleaned the room. Not enough parking space in hotel garage, and spaces were very tight.

Awesome restaurant

Posted Jul 13, 2017
Pros: Casual, relaxed feel. Helpful staff.
Cons: New beds.
Lovely rooftop restaurant and bar, yummy breakfast food. Older building and the beds could be replaced. Free parking is a plus.

Cute boutique hotel near State Street

Posted Jul 13, 2017
Cute with a lot of character. It's also nice to see college students come in and use workstations to study. Kind of small and one of the two elevators was out of order. Check in is earlt (11am). I asked for a later check out and they gave me 30 minutes however they both called and knocked on door twice to tell me that check out was at 11. Price is a little high for what you get but again the location is nice.

No Parking

Posted Jul 10, 2017
Pros: Location
Cons: Parking
Minimal parking and road is under construction so you cannot reach the hotel. Check in was slow, elevator was not working and after walking up four flights of stairs our key did not work. When we went for another key, they said that they always have trouble making a keycard for that particular room.

Dear Traveler, We appreciate you sharing your detailed feedback with us. While it is comforting to discover that you enjoyed our prime location near State Street and the university, I apologize for the limited parking as well as construction happening outside the hotel. I am excited to announce I am collecting bids from local companies to implement a valet option for our guests, I hope to have this added amenity ready by the end of the month. On behalf of the team I apologize for the delayed check-in and faulty keycard that you experienced. Please know I will be sure to follow up with the team to ensure we correct any issues with the door lock. Thank you again for taking the time to complete a review on your recent stay, I appreciate the great feedback. Sincerely, Lee Hoener General Manager

Great location good hotel

Posted Jul 3, 2017
The good: location, dogs permitted, friendly staff, restaurants. The bad: closet size old elevator (only one working), dark halls and rooms, poor bathrooms, room was damp even with air on. Decor was decent. Looks like and old hotel that was updated with decor only. Mechanics and low ceilings still exist. If I didn't have a dog with me I wouldn't stay here. Parking is also available in first come basis. Very cramped and old parking. Not the worse, not the best.

OK hotel but service was subpar

Posted Jun 29, 2017
Pros: Location and beds
Cons: Better trained staff, updating websites to reflect actual services provided and frequently checking food quality at lobby restaurant
We booked this hotel for its location and view of the lake. Unfortunately, only the the location was as advertised and the lake could not be seen from our "grand lakes suite". The pictures clearly show a stunning view of the lake but we could only see a run down frat house. Arrived at the hotel at 4pm and was told they weren't sure when our room would be available and to come back later. Asked where I should park so valet could park my car and was informed that they do not have valet even though it is listed on expedia (Expedia- Please update and show no valet). Asked about the complimentary shuttle and was informed that it wasn't running that day. Beds and room were comfortable but we didn't think the hotel was worth the amount paid per night . Staff was very unorganized and unhelpful during the check in process but the rooftop bar staff were very friendly. Breakfast had mold growing on it ( see picture) and both the juices my wife wanted to drink were months past their expiration dates and had odd things growing in them. Room and bed were 3.5/5 but the rest of the experience was barely 2/5. There are better hotels in the same area and I doubt they would try to serve moldy food to their customers.

We were booked for two nights, but left early because of the poor facility. Staff was very nice and helpful, but that is the only good thing that I can say. The sheets were not clean, the stale smoke smell in the room was overbearing and the paper-thin walls let us know a bit too much about all of our neighbors.

Spent more time on decor than on service

Posted Jun 4, 2017
Pros: It's decor is very good. Totally retro college-esk in abundance.
Cons: Spend the time on providing the basics of a hotel. They fail to provide a clean, quality experience for the above avg price.
Location: You're at the very end of State Street, be prepared for a long walk to do anything; it's not bad, but there are cheaper hotels, closer to the fun.
Parking was basically none existent, there are some spots, in very tight area. And if you leave, your spot in not guaranteed, even if you've already paid the $12 fee. If you have a truck, you're best to park elsewhere, and not risk scratches from trying to get into a spot. Signage is poor, especially at the garage entrance and into the hotel from the garage, it's very easy to get lost in all the doors. The room had garbage in it from a month past. Opened the nightstand to find shopping bags with receipts in the bags from 5/4; we stayed there on 6/2. Also garbage underneath the night stands and bed. The mirror on the bathroom door had something slopped on it. The pullout bed had many stains and there was no bedding for it, we had to call and have it brought up. To get full water pressure in the shower, you had to have the temperature at its highest. The cloth bag they store an extra roll of toilet tissue in, was stained, with, I'm not sure what. That's the experience from room 604. The room is dubbed a suite, however is the size of what you'd expect in a standard room. Lake view, yes, partially, once you look past the frat houses in various states of condition, you can see a part of the lake. When telling the front desk person of the issues, they simply apologized and said they would let someone know; and then happily ran my credit card and told me to have a nice day.

Madison visit

Posted May 15, 2017
Everything about the Graduate was great with the exception of the parking. Apparently parking is 1st come 1st serve and not designed for SUVs. Had to go to city lot and pay $16 for overnight.
