Hotel close to the Orpheum Theater

Posted Oct 26, 2013
Pros: Nice people.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Orpheum Theater
They had transferred me to the Best Western because the University Inn had overbooked. It actually was an upgrade!

Centrally located with restaurants all around

Minimal facilities and being on State Street with its bars and restaurants, extremely noisy at night.

Great location with an accommodating staff

Posted Oct 20, 2013
I recently visited Madison and booked a room at University Inn through expedia. The site was having issues, and I unwittedly ended up booking the room for a day over a month in advance that I had intended. I quickly called the hotel and they recommended I call expedia. After speaking with expedia, they were able to change my reservation to the appropriate date, and informed me that the hotel waived my reservation change fee, to which I was very happy. During my stay the staff were pleasant and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel to a friend.

Pleasantly Suprised

Stayed at the University Inn to visit our daughter for the day. Wanted someplace convenient to where she lives so that we would not have to drive and find a parking spot all the time. The room was very nice and clean. Beds were very comfortable. Nice place to stay in Madison and being on State Street was a plus. Would stay there again.

Gute Lage, Hotel okay

Surprisingly awesome hotel

I wasn't expecting much, but to my surprise the hotel was very clean, well maintained, my room seemed renovated, and I would absolutely stay here again. The free parking, wifi, and location are all good qualities as well.

Very nice- clean motel!

Pros: Cleanliness, parking, location, bedding
Location: UW Campus, Capital, State Street
We travel and stay over night downtown Madison several times a year. We have stayed at several "higher" end hotels and were a bit skeptical about the University Inn. WOW, were we wrong. The lobby was spotless, the rooms were well kept and the beds and bedding were wonderful! For 1/2 the price of what we typically pay to stay downtown Madison...we will definately be returning!

Noisy Hotel on State Street

Posted Sep 4, 2013
Pros: The staff was very nice. The room was large and clean.
Cons: Sound proof the rooms?
Location: Great location lots to do. Walking distance to everything in downtown Madison, WI
From the first time we walked into the room it smelled. I soon realized the smells where wafting up from the different restaurants below. The rooms were not sound proof, so you could hear the street noise loud and clear. The first night there was someone outside banging on a drum for money.
