Not My Best Choice

Posted May 21, 2017
Of all the places I stayed in Spain and Madrid during my three-week visit, this hotel was my least favorite. The location is not good--it's far out of the way and not centrally located, plus, while the area is not bad, it's not all that good either. The neighborhood was sketchy. Also, while the room is lovely with nice comforts and amenities, I found the hotel staff arrogant and unfriendly. There was also a big contingent of American guests staying, which is not what I enjoy, being American, I like to meet people of other cultures.

Visited Madrid several times. Accommodation very good for central location. Hotel easy walking distance to all visitor attractions. We unexpectedly had to return home early due to family bereavement. Expedia and hotel dealt with refund very swiftly.

Lovely hotel in great location

Posted May 14, 2017
Pros: We love the hotel's location, the rooms and the breakfast.
This is the fourth time we have used this particular hotel which is a great indicator of just how good it is. Its location, just a five minute walk from the Atocha Railway Station, makes it particularly convenient if using the airport express bus service. We normally visit Madrid to watch tennis at the Caja Magica and, once again, the hotel's location is particularly good - just 400 metres from the Metro station which is on the direct line to the tennis. However, you can also walk from the hotel to the main museums and, in fact, a 10-15 minute walk will also bring you to the very centre of Madrid and the famous Plaza Mayor. The rooms are modern and well equipped and the breakfast is fabulous.

Comfortable hotel close to Atocha station.

Posted May 13, 2017
Location: Atocha stn 10 mins walk. Prado 15 mins walk. Reina Sofia gallery 10 mins walk. Plaza Mayor etc 30 mins walk. For Royal Palace take bus C1 or C2.
We had a nice room on 6th floor, with good bathroom. All very clean. Hotel very handy for Atocha station (trains & buses), and most of the main sights. In any case, bus services in the city are very good, with a good website for routes. Buffet breakfasts were excellent, with as much (or as little) as you wished. Only downside was only having baked beans once during our stay - ha, ha. Staff very friendly, and luggage room if required on the day of departure. No complaints at all.

Pros: the clean, shinny floors
Cons: tea/coffee making facilities in room
Room is comfortable, clean and well presented, but lacking in tea/coffee making facilities. Wi-fi connection is good. Staff are very helpful, friendly and approachable. Location is excellent as it is walking distance from train station in Madrid Atocha train station

Hotel near the museums

Posted May 11, 2017
Pros: The size of the room.
Cons: The staff needs to be fluent in English.
Location: Go visit the Prado, Reine Sofia and the third museum near by and the Retiro National Park
The room service was very poor and the staff, except the reception, was rude. I do not know of any hotel that offers room service with an extremely limited menu that does not make it available from friday night till monday morning.

Very convenient to train station.

Posted May 10, 2017
Pros: Attractive, clean and spacious.
Cons: An iron and ironing board would be great. We had been travelling for 3 weeks, could have used these.
Location: Location convenient for sightseeing buses and also trains and airport shuttle within walking distance.
Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was worth the extra we had to pay. Loved having a balcony.
