The hotel was overbooked, so we were bumped up to a Junior Suite! Couldn't stay long enough to enjoy the room: spacious restored rooms with murals on the ceiling and eighteenth century details, parquet floors and a wall of windows/doors; huge bathroom. I stayed in the Catalonia Plaza Mayor Hotel earlier in the trip and it was excellent; based on my two experiences, they know how to make a great hotel.

This hotel is near the city centre, only a short walk to get there. It's literally up the road from Atocha railway station, therefore a great location. The hotel rooms are spotless and clean with a nice rain shower and amenities. Rooftop spa is there although it wasn't on when I was there (winter). I wouldn't hesitate staying there again.

I loved the location and the breakfast . The staff could have been more helpful at the desk but understand that there were trainers .
