Lovely hotel very close to main attractions

Posted Feb 22, 2017
Excellent location close to main attractions. Good transport links on the metro from outside the hotel. Very clean room. Only negative was the gym, some equipment broken, very small and dirty glass meaning you could not see views as promised on the website.

nice hotel in an absolutely beautiful location

Posted Feb 17, 2017
Pros: The staff was fabulous. The rooms were average but very clean and well-maintained. The location was awesome. The breakfast was phenomenal!
Cons: The windows could be more noise-proof because Madrid never sleeps!
Location: Royal palace, opera house 2 min. walk. Don't miss the Monastery Convent of Las Descalzas Reales (a must-see!, 10-min walk). Flamenco show 10min walk.
This hotel is in the old (historic) part of town, right next to the Royal Palace and the Opera house. Extremely close to Opera metro station. A walk away from restaurants. There is much to do around this area of town. We very much enjoyed the hotel and whats around it, and the accessibility of the Metro (2 min walk!). The staff was very helpful and friendly. Overall the rooms were clean and well-maintained, and the bathroom was also nice and clean. Would definitely come back to this hotel.

great location but very noisy

Posted Feb 12, 2017
Pros: the location is great, walking distance ti Opera and the center (Sol)
I got a room in the 1st floor and sleeping was just impossible.. between the noise of the street during the night and the cleaning service in the early morning... a nightmare !!!

great location

Posted Jan 22, 2017
Pros: We liked the location, bed comfort and shower although it was a little slippery
Cons: Storage space, remove mini bar items improve sound proofing. Hotel cleaning staff started early and made a lot of noise. This was standard in spain.
Location: Opera house opposite, Palace around the corner. Isabella square and all the shops at the door. metro at the door.
We stayed here in 3 rooms for 3 nights. The rooms were on the small side and had little storage. The wardrobes were virtually unusable because of position. The sound insulation was pretty non existent and we were continually disturbed during the night by street noise. The Twin beds were comfortable and the shower pressure was great. (the 2 most important things in a hotel room.) The staff were very helpful and the breakfast had a reasonable choice. The best thing is the position. Metro, hop on hop off and the city centre right at the door.

Royal Palace right outside the front door

Posted Nov 24, 2016 on Orbitz
Pros: Best breakfast in Spain. Location cannot be beat.
Cons: Nothing we can think of now. Just keep in mind the room key is used to turn on the lights and television.
Location: Royal Palace literally right out the front door. Located near both metro lines as well as the Madrid Doubledecker tour bus stops. A walkers dream.
The location is a double-edged sword. Fantastic location where you can walk out the front door and watch the sun rise on the Royal Palace. Located near loads of restaurants and a shopping thoroughfare. The other side of the sword is you are located near bars and restaurants and the Spaniards keep later hours than most people so the street noise lasts long into the night and early morning. The breakfast is definitely worth the price-best coffee we had in Spain and the fresh orange juice was fantastic as well. Got spoiled eating scrambled eggs with Iberian ham every morning. The Cafe Opera is on the first floor and is a nice place to have a late dinner if you don't feel like walking the streets. It also had some wonderful Spanish pastries-el pepito de crema will curb your sugar yearnings quite well. Great hotel as long as you are not a light sleeper.
