Cinematic palace calm in Chamberí

Behind an ivory-stone façade with soft blue trim, the mood turns intimate and cinematic, as preserved rooms and gardens feel gently removed from the city’s pace. Lounges and dining spaces carry Belle Époque character, including a book-lined library restaurant and a French-style private garden shaded by centuries-old chestnut trees. Evenings can begin with the complimentary Casilda Cocktail ritual, a signature pour inspired by the estate’s chestnuts.

  • Library restaurant tasting menus

Chef Rafa Peña’s 7 or 11 courses turn the palace library into a ritual.

  • Science-led wellness treatments

The Longevity Hub by Clinique La Prairie offers up to seven exclusive therapies.

  • Chamberí on foot with an expert

Reserve the guided neighborhood walk for stories, plazas, and architecture.

Amenities

  • Sleek art deco Gin Bar cocktails
  • Late Breakfast and Brunch in garden
  • Private “secret table” dinners under chestnuts
  • Private chapel dining room with wine cellar
  • 24-hour room service for gourmet privacy
  • Indoor pool plus a fully equipped gym

The location is excellent. The overall property is lovely although a bit tired. The rooms were in need of an update and were slightly dirty. The restaurant was pretty, condescending wait staff and mediocre food for the cost. The outside area is lovely and unusual for the city location.

It is very hard to condense in a few word our stay in Santo Mauro. EVERYTHING, ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING has been perfect. We stayed in this hotel as we wanted to treat ourselves for a few days before and after our wedding... well, the team went above and beyond to make our stay perfect and memorable. Everyone was really helpful and willing to make our stay special, and they definitely succeeded. The rooms are from out of this world, the beds are second to none, the service is superb, and the details and attentions the staff had with us will never be forgotten... and I could go on and on and on. Thank you so much to the whole team for making an already special day even better, we will definitely come back for our wedding anniversary!
