Hotel within close reach of Metro stations

Posted Apr 19, 2017
Pros: The hotel is well located to various Metro stations. You can walk to Plaza de Espana and Gran Via. The location is also in a safe district of Madrid.
Cons: N/A
Location: Close to Metros San Bernardo and Arguelles. You can walk to Plaza de Espana in 20 minutes and Gran Via is a short walk in the opposite direction.
A pleasant, clean and efficient hotel located within walking distance of the Metro stations: San Banardo and Arguelles. The hotel is also approximately 45 minutes away from the airport. Rooms are clean, comfortable with free wifi.

Good location but refurbishment not finished

Posted Apr 16, 2017
Pros: Staff very helpful and polite.
Cons: The refurbishment needs to be completed properly.
Location: Very convenient location. Reasonable number of local restaurants and tapas bars however many restaurants don't open in the evening until 8:30 or 9pm
My wife and I stayed for a week in this conveniently located and reasonably priced hotel. The common areas and breakfast were good. We requested and were given a quiet twin-room on the 5th floor at the back of the building. The room was only just wide enough to allow a person to shuffle sideways past the ends of the beds. Although the room had been recently refurbished the bath had not been replaced and was showing its age, the shower surged from warm to cold occasionally (probably not thermostatic) and a tile along the side of the bath which had come loose had not been replaced properly. The smoke alarm was still masked up for painting and the door required an unacceptable amount of force to close.

Really a great location...

Posted Apr 6, 2017
Pros: The location is perfect.
Cons: There is a serious lack of information in the room.
The Leonardo Hotel Madrid City Center is in a great location, especially for the price. The room is a bit small, but you won't spend time in it anyway. The bed is very comfortable and the shower is nice. The bathroom is spacious and clean.Truthfully, two people in this room would be tight. If you have a large suitcase, there is nowhere to put it. I'd recommend you unpack and put everything away. The overall 3 rating is this. There was no information in the room about the hotel, the amenities, or the neighborhood. The "minibar" is an empty mini fridge with a sign that says their "grab 'n' go" station has what the guest needs. However, where is the "grab 'n' go" station? I also only pick hotels with room service. There was no menu or instructions for that in the room. There is a laundry service, but no information on how to go about it. It was very easy and quick (though typically overpriced as in all hotels), but I had to call reception to find out the process. I saw on the phone unit a number for the restaurant, but I have no idea where it is. I strongly suggest they put together an information book like in EVERY HOTEL I've ever stayed. The Leonardo is in the perfect location for walking to the Grand Via and some cool live music bars, tapas bars, shisha bars, and anything else you need. I would suggest you do some neighborhood research and get your maps together because the hotel doesn't provide them...at least, in my experience.

Hard to complain. Unless you want to Knitt Pick.

Posted Oct 27, 2016
Location: Close to Two Metro stations, directly off the Airport terminal circular with just one change. Was really cheap, under €30 return for the pair of us.
You know how much us brits love our tea. A kettle in the room would be nice. We both really struggled to find anything negative to comment about. ☆☆☆☆ Wifi was excellent. FREE security safe in your room. Fridge in room, Fantastic. Massive kingsize bed Awesome. Two supermarkets just round the corner. Everything loads cheaper than at home. Those scan yourself checkouts are in English. Credit cards no problem. We ate like pigs every night for under €30. Even in the City centre it was surprisingly affordable. We opted out of Breakfast. Loads of little bars really close by. My Spanish is ok, but not brilliant. EVERYBODY responded back in perfect English at the Hotel. No awkward moments at all. x♡x surprise your loved one with a city break x♡x Book a cheap flight. Book this hotel. Take the metro. Will be the best cheap getaway you ever had. Stuff the travel agents... Do it yourself from ya phone.. soooooo easy.
