Melia Galgos Madrid

Pros: Excellent breakfast
Cons: Sound insulation
Location: 30 minute walk from main centre. Once in centre museums, art galleries, gardens and parks, architecture etc all beautiful
Nice hotel, further away from city centre than expected. Excellent breakfast Sound proofing very poor. Could hear very clearly every word said by guests in next room. Also rather alarmingly could hear conversation of people in room through the wall from bathroom. For the standard of the hotel I felt this was surprising. We were in Madrid to visit the city and local sites so retired fairly early in the evening only to be woken when guests in the next rooms arrived home. I don't think this was due to them being extremely noisy but due to poor sound insulation.

My personal stay in my visit of Madrid

Pros: Very effective and nice staff. A superb breakfast served in a very nice restaurant.
Location: Located at the most expensive part of Madrid surrounded by nice restaurants, boutiques and business centers.
A very nice hotel, modern and dinamic with a great willing staff. The lobyy is comfortable and bigger than most other lobbies of hotels of this characteristics in Madrid. My single room was spacious and fit my needs. I travel usually with more equipment than the regular business person and had more than enough place for my stuff. Very clean.

Nice hotel, bit noisy

The noise echoes off the marble staircase and carries a long way. Would recommend not staying by the stairs

Great Hotel

Pros: Breakfast
Cons: reception and lobby could use a bit more of lighting. its a bit dark.
Location: Hard Rock Café Madrid and Designer outlets
Great Hotel within walking distance to shopping outlets. Breakfast spread is tremendous. varieties of food and drink selection.

Very, very nice

Pros: Quick checkin and friendly staff who speak good english. Location great to Metro which gives you access to city.
Cons: Would be nice to have tea & coffee facilities in room.
Location: Located in Salamanca with easy access to Metro stations. Felt very safe walking around at any time of the day.
Very nice hotel and staff. Room only so don't know about breakfast or dinner but nice bar, very clean and room was comfy and cleaned every day. Hotel 8 or 10 minute walk from two Metro stations. Located in upmarket area but not too noisy at night. Free safe in room and great shower. Would stop at hotel again.

Nice hotel but far from the center of attraction

Pleasant hotel with good facilities, lobby and breakfast buffet. Lobby can be noisy late in the evening because the bar/restaurant is right there. Good hotel for business trips. A bit far from where we would like to be. At least two miles from Prado, The Royal Palace and the downtown area. Take a taxi. If you can afford the hotel, you can afford the taxi. The on site upgrade was well worth it for the roominess of the place. Overall staff were pleasant, English speaking, and generous with their help and attention. Bedroom decor is a bit underwhelming for the price. Bathroom size and amenities are good. The sink counter space is a bit small for the room size and you settle on keeping your toiletries in your vanity bag.. Linen and pillows are great. Shampoo, bath gel and lotion smelled good. The amenities kit was a great touch. Breakfast buffet is worth it. Choose that option. Use their private ride to and from the airport. Classier Ride (Mercedes) and same price as a taxi.

Great Breakfast

Great breakfast. The staff is very friendly, professional and helpful. Room is very small. The air conditioner is very noise.

The hotel website advertised a hot tub, but we were told there were no hot tubs when we were there. Very disappointed, would ha e been nice after walking all day. When we mentioned this at the front desk no compensation was offered.
