Overnight stopover

Posted Aug 15, 2015
Pros: Everything
Cons: N/a
Location: Close to many local tapas eateries as well as El Corte Ingles. Easy taxi ride to everywhere. Try Cazorla for evening tapas and la cerveceria.
This hotel is amazing. The location is fantastic, the staff superb always going out of their way to help you. The rooms extremely comfortable, modern and clean. The breakfast buffet is par none the best I have experienced in Europe. Will definitely stay and highly recommend.

Quality Hotel in an Excellent Location

Posted Aug 9, 2015
This is a quality hotel very close to the Plaza Espana and the centre of Madrid. It's also very close to the Metro if you want to travel a little further. The staff at the hotel were excellent, particularly at Check in where they made sure you had everything you need. The room was high quality and was very well presented. Next time we are in Madrid we will be definitely using this hotel again.

Great Hotel

Posted Aug 2, 2015
Although the property looks dated from the exterior, it was thoroughly modern from the inside. Beatiful lobby, and the rooms were great! Location was excellent as it was a block from the metro, and our family purchased the 3 day unlimited metro pass. The Spanish Plaza and other sites were within walking distance, but due to the heat we chose the metro.

Exzellentes Stadthotel

Posted Aug 2, 2015
Jederzeit wieder...

Great hotel

Posted Jul 31, 2015
Pros: Ummmmmmm.
Cons: Ummmmmmm.
Location: Perfect also try the Mexican restraint across the street, awesome food!!!
Melia hotels from around the world are always great and this one is no different, clean secure and friendly, what more can you ask for. The first night we received a bottle of water and a dish of candy from the general manager( thank you) and each of the three days we were there we could not be happier. The hotel has a metro stop about two minute walk away. The taxi stand is right on the corner, and if you take the hop on hop off tour bus, there stop is right across the street. The pool is in the basement and is just hat the doctor order after a long day at the Prado musuem.

Issue of Internet

Posted Jul 19, 2015
Pros: Cleanliness
Cons: The choice of food at executive lounge the Level is limited, it's very displeasing after a day stay. Air conditioning.
Location: OK
Internet was down more than 48 hours! Events and entertainment related publications were all in Spanish. Madrid is less prepared than Barcelona in this respect. I took an upgrade that was very disappointing. The foldable bed was a joke. Better advise should have been a separate room for the third person, and it would have been a the same cost. The upgrade was not a good choice! They should have offered me whatever suits the guest, not their pocket! Air conditioning was not keep g up with the weather.

Do not believe the pool pictures.

Posted Jul 15, 2015
Pros: Staff. Location was quiet. Breakfast was great but they need a coffee machine since their coffee made everyone tea drinkers
Cons: AC in lobby. Coffee.
Location: Location is central but just beyond the Grand Via which is to be avoided. Cab rides were cheap thanks to its location.
The staff was great. They helped us with everything from a private van on less than an hours notice to getting tickets on the Spanish railway WHICH does not accept US credit card info. Our maid was friendly and responsive. Now the bad. The lobby was always to hot for comfort. The pool which they advertise on their web site is there BUT there is a 16€ spa fee to use it.
