Just Okay

Posted Mar 12, 2017
Pros: Great location - five minute walk from Puerta del Sol, friendly staff, and a decent breakfast.
Cons: Better ventilation system.
Location: Five minute walk from Puerta del Sol - tons of bars, restaurants, cafes. Close to two metro stops. Within a 20 minute walk of most major attractions
Spent four nights at the Petit Palace Tres Cruces following a three night stay in Barcelona. When you stay in two different hotels consecutively, it is difficult not to make comparisons. Our room at PPTC was much smaller than our former room - but I knew this when I made the booking - and we were not upgraded as we were previously. This too was fine, as a street view often equates to more noise. The problem was the ventilation system - being early March, the only option was "heat". Our first night was uncomfortable, as the room was very warm - despite trying all the settings on the thermostat. When I complained to the front desk, they said the only solution was to turn the system off, as the building could only do "heat" or "air conditioning" as a whole, not for individual rooms. They offered to move me the following night. We ended up staying in the same room, with windows open which was a little cooler but noisier. I suppose if I was here a month earlier or later this would not have been an issue, but when you pay for a hotel room, you are really paying for a comfortable night's sleep - and we didn't get this. It also seemed strange that our room was at least five degrees (C) warmer than the hallway outside - presumably part of the same ventilation system.

Good quality budget hotel in a central location

Posted Feb 21, 2017
Pros: Location, quiet
Location: Located off Grand Via, in the old part of the City, 10 minutes walk from Plaza Major, Mercado San Miguel and all the tapas and shops you could need.
Stayed for 3 nights in Feb - this hotel is in a good location, situated just off the Grand Via, and only 10 minutes from many Madrid attractions and a variety of tapas bars. Comfortable bed, quiet room, very clean. We did not book breakfast (16€ is a bit steep), ate out all day instead. No bar at the hotel, but plenty of choice nearby.

The desk clerks were extremely friendly. They had a take away breakfast for us at 6am. The rooms are a little small, but adequate for a few nights. The rooms on the street side are noisy on the weekend. It was a great stay overall.

Very noisy area. There are three bars downstairs so it's impossible to sleep at night because they close at 6am. The room had s Mini bar that we were never told we had to pay for. We paid before leaving the hotel and after we left they still charged my card additional money without justification. I regret booking this hotel.

Convenient and quiet hotel

Posted Dec 4, 2016 on Hotels
The hotel is okay, but the location is greatn - right in the middle of everything just off of Gran Via so it's easy to walk to lots of sights including the Royal Palace and the Prado museum. Surprisingly, it was very quiet despite being right next to a very busy street and people partying just about all night. Breakfast was fairly standard for a European hotel and the room was fine - not very fancy but it was comfy enough.

Great location and great value for the price

Posted Nov 29, 2016 on Orbitz
Pros: Awesome breakfast, great location, good internet conexion
Cons: Room 410 was noisy due to the elevator
Location: Everything you might want to do in Madrid is within walking distance.
I loved the hotel. For a 3-star hotel it is great value. It is not expensive at all, the room was clean and spacious, and the location is just perfect, right in the middle of everything and very well communicated to everywhere in the city by public transport. I've stayed in many different hotels in Madrid and the breakfast here is awsome for a 3-star hotel. The WiFi also works very well. Just ask not to be put in a room next to the elevator because you can hear it from your room.
