Our stay in UrbanPosted Aug 28, 2015 on Hotels
We loved it there. The hotel was very sentral in Madrid, there were coffe shops, restaurants everywhere and the mall el corte ingles were just 10-15 min by walk. The service were great, especially the door men. They were not to formal in clothing and that made us feel that the hotel was welcomed by everyone despite age or clothing. The only thing that we were dissapointed about was the pool, its not even big enough to swim in it.

Pas à la hauteur de ses prétentionsPosted Aug 28, 2015
Pros: Bon accueil, ambiance standing, belle terrasse

Okay, but lacking.Posted Aug 25, 2015
Pros: The location was great, but the hotel was not.
Cons: Improve the fitness facility!
The hotel was acceptable, but definitely needs some updating/refreshing. The bathroom was an interesting design, but really out of date. The shower was a really old tub and shower design and really needed to be modernized (water splashed everywhere). Most of tile in the bathroom was not very well cleaned and grout was gungey. The fitness facilities should not even be advertised, as the room was extremely tiny and contained a couple of old cardio machines and one bench with some barbells (not a good selection of anything to use as freeweights). I would suggest closing that room and not advertising a fitness facility... it was really embarrasseing "for them". The pool was microscopic and the restaurant and bar were way overpriced. It was not what I was expecting from the advertised pics and website. Pretty disappointed!

Nice modern city centerPosted Aug 25, 2015
Enjoyed the pool. Welcome rose and bottle of water, candy at reception, free glass of champagne per guest were nice touches. Easy walking to major sights and shopping. Interesting modern decor, glass elevator, roof deck very nice.

Great Location, Friendly StaffPosted Aug 19, 2015
Pros: Major plus to have a pool in an urban hotel. Staff could not have been more friendly or helpful, kudos.
Cons: Larger luggage rack would have been nice.
Location: Located close to Puerto Del Sol, and museums.
This hotel is located very close to everything you need, restaurants and shops, as well as major sights. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is impeccably clean, and the room was well taken care of. The bed was very comfortable and the room felt spacious not like there was too much furniture in there.

Overall, great experience especially the exceptional staff at the front desk and at the door. Service on the terrace is not consistent and the pool is really a wading pool.

Cons: Better control over seat possession with towels on the terrace!!
Location: There are many things to do in Madrid and we had the most amazing time. It is a wonderful city and the locals very friendly.
Having stayed here a few years ago, I thought I would go again on a recent 5 day visit to Madrid with my daughter. We booked a superior room with twin beds. Upon arrival it transpired that we were not allocated a twin room and was told there aren't very many at the hotel. After a short debate, we were told that a room would be prepared for us, at which point another staff member suggested to the receptionist that we could be given another room which was for a later arrival, and they would then prepare a room for the later arrival. I was disappointed with the superior room which I understood was a good size with a sofa. I'm not particularly bothered about there being a sofa but the point I make is that the inability to accommodate a sofa is indicative of how small it was. In addition, the window was small and the room therefore was devoid of natural light. It was unpleasant, with no view, only a vault going through the building. The bathroom door was difficult to close and made a lot of noise in doing so. I was woken at around 4.30/5am every day by what I can only imagine was staff turning up for work, very loud male voices talking/shouting and laughing. The noise from rooms nearby was also disturbing and therefore I do not feel they should be described as soundproof. I would be reluctant to recommend the hotel to friends or stay here again myself. Because of the trouble we had securing a room on the day (albeit was booked well in advance), I did not raise issue.
