A Nightmare - Prostitutes and all

Posted Aug 21, 2017
Pros: Not much
Location: The hotel is in a isolated area of Madrid. You need a car or taxi to go or do anything.
What can I say. I used Expedia to book our flights and in order to get a cheaper price for the flight we had to book a hotel. So Expedia recommended Vertice. We were only going to use the hotel for the last night in Madrid and were flying out early the next morning,. On our way over to the Hotel it was obvious that the hotel is in a remote and isolated part of Madrid. As we were approaching the hotel the cab driver advised us to not walk around the area at night. He pointed out the Prostitutes on the corner but said they were nice and friendly girls (I kid you not). This was a no frills hotel but again for one night we thought it would be ok. We took two rooms and my room wreaked of cigarette smoke even though we were told it was a non-smoking room. While walking in the sterile hallways I heard a couple having sex in next room - they were loud. I was in the room no more than 5 minutes and decided this was not a safe place for anyone to stay so we checked out and went to another Hotel in the heart of the City for only 30 Euros more... I was shocked and very disappointed at Expedia for recommending such a place that was not clean or safe. Shame on you Expedia!!!

Very good for Mad cool

Posted Jul 10, 2017
It's less than 5 mins walk to the train station, 20 min train to centre of Madrid. We stayed for Mad Cool Festival and this was only a 10-15 min taxi ride (costing between €11-30 depending on time of day). I would recommend downloading the Cabify app which is better than Uber in Spain for getting there and back. Great cafe downstairs and corner shops close by for snacks. Otherwise not many other facilities in the close area. Fantastic room, cleaned really well and fresh towels given daily. Only downside was that the room didn't have a safe.

Not a good place to stay

Posted Jun 3, 2017 on Hotels
Location too far from anything, room not maintained well, desk staff not friendly, breakfast was supposed to be included but it wasn't, they couldn't find my reservation, wrong dates in system, problem with dates booked, free parking is for everyone, it's in writing, they acted like they were giving me something for free,

Comfortable hotel on the outskirts of Madrid

Posted Sep 20, 2016
This hotel is not right inside the city, but it's very convenient since the train station is a couple of blocks away. The staff is great and very helpful.
