Amazing stay

Pros: I like that this is a luxurious hotel.
Cons: A tv guide would be a plus. Access to a microwave would be awesome & a bigger fridge to store leftovers.
Location: We were able to walk everywhere we wanted. Shops and food were very accessible.
We enjoyed our stay in the Executive Suite. It was our 2nd time staying here at the IVY. Our room was big and spacious. I love the bathroom. The tub is awesome and big. We were close enough to the places we wanted to go. It would've been great to have a tv guide to know what we were watching. Also, we would've like to have access to a microwave. We dined out a lot and would've liked to be able to heat up our leftovers. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will be returning.

Wonderful Stay

Great hotel in Streetervill

Pros: Small hotel with nice staff and modern feel.
Location: Near Navy Pier and shopping.
We stayed 3 nights visiting our daughter who lives a block over. Room very spacious and clean. Roof top bar a bonus and good location too.

Hidden Gem in Downtown!!!!

Pros: Spacious, friendly staff, comfortable rooms, no noise
Cons: There's not much of anything I figure could be improved. I feel it's already a hidden gem in the city.
Location: LOTS of food, walking distance to the Navy Pier, shopping, parks
Where do I start? This hotel is fantastic! Right from the start, we were greeted by welcoming staff who had opened doors for us even before indicating we were patrons of the hotel. Check-in was a breeze. As soon as we arrived to our room, we were amazed that we received such a great deal for the quality room we were staying in. The room was spacious, the beds were EXTREMELY comfortable, and the decor design throughout the room was well though out--a more modern design. Some have indicated they heard noises early in the morning. Well, it is Chicago, right? My wife and I are very light sleepers, and we did not hear a noise at all! This includes our actual floor. The one thing I enjoyed, and I'm not sure this is the case for all floors, but there were only like 6 rooms on the 13th floor. That was great! The cleaning staff was wonderful, too. We weren't ready to leave one morning, and she said there were no worries and she would just come back later. It's little things like this that made our visit to Chicago that much more enjoyable. We had an awesome time, and we will be back soon! THANK YOU IVY!

Terrible experience with young front desk clerk

Cons: Train your staff.
Location: Dark street with no lights next to construction.
We booked Ivy last minute (24 hours)...upon arrival we determined that the hotel was not close enough to our daughter and asked that we change the reservation to one night and the clerk refused to make the change stating that we needed 72 hours to cancel (we just booked the day before). The front desk clerk was young, rude and inexperienced.

Slique and comfortable

They gave us a free upgrade to a suite, which was a nice surprise. The accommodations very modern and nearly designed. The staff was very attentive and I liked that the had a system to text requests to the front desk. I'd definitely stay again, especially with the price we got through Expedia.

Solid 3.5/5.0 star. +Good location. +Great value

Boutique hotel at a very sensible price. I stayed for four nights; it was very comfortable w/ a large suite of rooms; TVs in bath (fancy behind-mirror installation), large bedroom TV, and another in the comfortable separate sitting room area. Bathroom also very large and comfortable. Staff all wonderfully helpful. I was able to ask at the front desk about nearby fitness clubs - I hadn't realized until right after I booked that there was no onsite fitness room. The staff gave me a pass to a local fitness club nearby which had much more on offer (including indoor pool) than is usual for a hotel fitness room, and so met all my needs. (However, this club is going to be closing at the end of the May 2017 - so I'm not sure if Ivy will find another way to do this). One minor issue: several hairline cracks in the bathroom tile installation. Mostly an aesthetic issue, no clear functional impact. But I wouldn't expect to see this in a hotel that seems to be aiming higher. Overall, a solid 3.5 star hotel (maybe higher) at a price that would be highly competitive for a 3.0/5.0 star hotel (I'm comparing to amazing 5 star, $$$$$ places). Two last issues: separate prices for each night - which was a minor disad, since I had to pay out-of-pocket for one night that exceeded my allowed per diem. Finally, when I asked about WiFi@checkin, I received a complementary (standard/low) bandwidth WiFi access code, which was all I really needed. Getting connected to WiFi was a minor nuisance though..
