Magnificent Mile Hotel near everything

Posted Sep 23, 2017
Pros: Location: within 3 miles or less to Old Town, Gold Coast, Wicker Park, Lincoln Park, Boys Town, Millenium Park, Navy Pier, in heart of downtown.
Cons: The gym was tiny, some equipment was broken, and the elevators were slow and small. I'm being knit picky here because there wasn't much to improve.
Location: It's in the heart of downtown & close to all major neighborhoods. It is very walkable and Uber/Lyft are everywhere. A block away from Hancock Tower.
The Millenium Knickerbocker Hotel is an attractive, old hotel, located in the northern part of the Magnificent mile. It is surrounded by luxury and wealth. I would not describe the hotel itself as "luxe," compared to the Drake Hotel across the street, but it is certainly well above average and has a historical beauty and charm of its own. It has a roomy bar area with multiple sitting areas and a low key restaurant to grab a bite in. The rooms were spacious, mini bar well stocked, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom had a rain showerhead which made getting ready a relaxing experience. The Knickerbocker is competitively priced for the area, and the customer service was superior--from doormen, to check in, to bartenders, to waiters, to maid service--all were wonderful, helpful, and pleasant. I also rather enjoyed the walkability of downtown and it's surrounding neighborhoods. There are plenty of restaurant to feast in, plenty of stores to shop in, and plenty of towers to get breathtaking views of the skyline and lake from. The Knickerbocker was 1 block away from Hancock Tower--the first thing my companion and I did was to have a cocktail on the 96th floor! The Sears Tower and Trump Tower are the other super tall skyscrapers nearby. A few things I would recommend doing is the boat architectural tour of the city, walking River Front of the Chicago River, going to Lincoln Park Zoo, watching a Cubs game at Wrigley Field, and riding the famous L Train.

I’m not really sure if this is a 4 star hotel!! Maybe it was by the time it was built. To be fair, the rooms are in really great condition, because they were recently renovated. However, the hallways are pretty old as well as the elevators not to mention that they shake when operated!! The front desk staff seemed to have a lack of knowledge because they charged me twice fo the rooms deposit. Also, there’s not room service, not even a hot water!!!!!! Overall, it was somehow just fine or beliw fine experience.

Lovely & within walking distance of attractions

Posted Sep 21, 2017
Pros: It was very comfortable.
Cons: For the amenities in the bathroom, you have to have mouthwash and shower caps.
Location: It is a great location within walking distance of Navy Pier, Magnificent Mile and many delicious restaurants.
I was on a solo trip to visit my sons for a few days. It was last minute and I knew I would have the days to do some sightseeing while they worked. Navy Pier and the Magnificent Mile are within walking distance of the hotel. My room was on the 4th floor and it was very comfortable and it was quiet! I didn't hear any traffic, sirens or banging doors. It was great. I ate in the restaurant twice and the food was delicious. Check in and out was easy. It was a great choice for a hotel.

Great Stay and Location

Posted Sep 20, 2017
Pros: Beautiful exterior and great location.
Cons: None.
Location: Very close to Lakeshore Drive-would be easy to walk/bike. Very close to Michigan Avenue where all shopping is located. Easy walk to good food.
This absolutely beautiful hotel was a great stay for our first anniversary weekend getaway. Excellent location-a block from Michigan Avenue. Only complaint is thin walls, as well as a leaking showerhead that then made our room's carpet wet.

The hotel lobby and rooms needs to be Remodeled. Lobby area has Old carpets and chairs that need to be refurbished. Beds are old and hurt your back. Change the mattresses

The shower leaked, causing a slip hazard on the floor. No vending machines on-site.

Great location

Posted Sep 10, 2017
We enjoyed our three nights stay at this hotel. The hotel was reasonably priced at a great location and all the comforts one needed. Our room was clean with a comfy bed and plenty of room. I would come back to this hotel and recommend this hotel to others.
