I was pleasantly surprised at the comfort of the room. The motel is located "downtown" Magnolia.

Not the best hotel stay..

Pros: The Location.
Cons: Preparation for one of the cities busiest weekends, should begin now.
Location: Located in the heart of the city; perfect location.
Upon checking into my room, I didn't notice that my bed didn't have a fitted sheet. It had a top sheet in it's place. I called to the front desk asking for one and was told I would have to come get the sheet myself, due to there only being one person working the night shift. The entire weekend of our hotel stay, we didn't have hot water in the shower. I advised one of the Front Desk Clerks and she said she would tell the Manager. I never received word from the Manager or the clerk again, regarding if the water would be fixed. (I'm not sure if any attempts were made to fix the water, but it was never hot; not even warm.) The hotel also ran out of towels. When the House Keeper came to our room to collect trash and our used towels, on the Saturday morning of our stay, I asked if we could have more clean towels. Her response was, "Everybody need towles."...she then advised me, the hotel had ran out of clean towels. I've traveled all over the world and have stayed at various hotels, from the best to the worst and never, have I encountered a hotel not having any clean towels. I asked for clean towels between 9:30 am - 11:30am; we didn't receive clean towels until after 1:00pm. We didn't have an iron in the room and the one given to us by the Front Desk staff didn't work. The Front Desk Clerk did bring a working iron to the room. The only pleasantries about the hotel were the friendly staff and the "grab and go" breakfast was decent.

When I arrived there were various arm chairs covered with dust in the drive directly in front of the door to enter. These were supporting a for sale sign. The air conditioner had not been turned on it was very hot and stuffy in the room though I booked several days in advance. No coffee pot in the room. I was very disappointed. Have stayed in much nicer places for much less.

For an old hotel in it was very clean, I was impressed with cleanines.

Hotel is old and looks old on the outside so I was afraid that the room, bathroom and sheets would not be clean, however, I was very impressed to find that the room, bathroom were clean, even the sheets white. One of the bath towels could use some bleaching but I didn't use that towel and I felt the carpet could have been replaced but was very pleased with cleaniness. Also, tub water stopper didn't work so I was disappointed I couldn't take a nice hot soak before bed. Overall I was satisfied and know that some of the negatives mentioned above you can expect in a small city.
