Excellent resort, great for families.

A superb resort, fantastic location, excellent facilities, all but a few staff were exceptionally welcoming, friendly and most courteous. Location of our specific room was exceptional, staff whom we would most like to thank are Edwina, Gautam, Marcus, Mike, Paul, Jean-Claude, Kenny, Mary-Anne, Judy, Rona, Alexandro, Angelika, Hamzeu, Jayraj, Randolph, Harry, Martin, Ryan, Dave, Sharon, Ruby, Una, Shana.

Nice complex

Pros: The friendly staff, the local wildlife, the room and its view.
Cons: Offer more places to eat with a broader choice of menu. Lower your costs to a reasonable rate.
Location: Not much to do nearby. The location is pretty and a well-kept complex.
I stayed in the Kempinski Hotel for 3 weeks. The complex itself is very nice, suitable for the location, and clearly blends in well with the environment. The hotel and its extensive surroundings are evidently well-maintained. The staff are amazing -in particular- Maria in house keeping. She is efficient and friendly, she made our stay feel very welcoming. Breakfast was also very nice and always looked forward to the perfectly cooked eggs from Chef Daniel. With regards to dining, there were about 3 locations to eat. The Windsong Restuarant on the beach is nice but has a limited menu, therefore, after about 3 or 4 nights you would get bored with the food, the only vegetable they offer seems to be asparagus. The buffet was lovely, but could only afford to go once because the prices were extortionate, a 1000 SR each -without a drink. After a week, we ventured outside the hotel to look for places to eat, there are hardly any around this area. Apart from a few singers each evening, there was no real entertainment, which overall, gives it a real dull ambiance. The most exciting thing I see was when there was a wedding party, and they had great music, fire-eaters, and dancers, I watched it from my balcony and wished I could be there. For the money they charge, I would have thought they could afford much more exotic and fun entertainment for the guests. Overall, this is a great place for a rest, but unfortunately, unless you are rich, not much else.

While we do have daily live music and daily activities with the recreational team, we do not offer holiday animation as such since the majority of our guests travels on their honeymoon or for relaxation and seeks more peace and quiet. Good Location, Close to the Beach,reasonable price

Pros: location calm area, at the beach. Food is great
Cons: There is not enough light inside the room. Mattress was not confortable, but maybe because they have joined two single to make a king size bed
Location: Petit Anse is must see. Del Place restaurant is great place to have late lunch /early sun set dinner. Great food, great location. Service is slow
Reception is great and helpful, Breakfast is amazing, great Variety, and taste good. Though the room location is at beach, i found the floor dirty a bit and the bed was not comfortable at all. unfortunately, although i booked a single king size bed, i have seen that it is two mattresses joined together. it was uncomfortable at all.

Beautiful, friendly, relaxing!

Pros: Everything! Although in hind sight we would book a ground floor sea view room to actually see the sea.
Cons: We had a sea view room which was obscured by the thick palm trees which in itself is lovely but would have liked to have seen the sea!
The initial reaction upon arriving in the hotel reception was WOW! The actual view and look of the resort was just beautiful and exceeded our expectations even after an overnight flight and no sleep! The champagne served with breakfast as part of the half board deal kept that happiness flowing every morning!! The beach staff were so friendly and knew my son's name by the end of the first day. They couldn't do enough for us. We did aqua aerobics and cocktail making but the ultimate was feeding the tortoises that were kept there. There was always something to do if lying on a sunbed was not enough stimulation. The staff arranged a helicopter tour as well as a day on a catamaran which gave us chance to see more of the beauty of the Seychelles. We had hired a car which meant we could also explore ourselves.

Secluded Hotel on the Beach

Great hotel, amenities and food options. It seems relavitly new. The beach area is small but not horrible. Also, there is no surf in that area but a beautiful view.

Beyond my Expectations

Pros: You can't go wrong on an island like Mahe but what made Kempinski special for me was the wonderful staff, spacious rooms, and delicious food.
Cons: Nothing
Location: The other nice thing is that they had snorkeling equipment and kayaks available. I wish I had known so I didn't pack mine.
From the moment we arrived we were greeted with warmth, pampered and treated with a combination of professional staff who possessed a lovely sense of humor. We arrived early and the staff did an excellent job making us comfortable until the room was ready. I thought we would have to wait an hour or two and instead it was less than 30 minutes.

Nice 4-Star Hotel

Cons: Beach service needs a little work. The water jugs are nice, but at times difficult to get your hands on. Add staff to the beach to help more.
Very impressive entry and grounds. Our room was very clean and the complimentary water provided during room make-up in the morning and for turn down service on the night stand was a nice touch. In general, the staff were good, not great. Several people were wonderful, but others were average and did not go above and beyond as should be the case in a "5-star" hotel. The food was average, not incredibly impressive, but the variety was nice. Drinks were definitely resort prices, paying the equivalent of 10-15 USD for a beer. Beach is a lot of reef, great for snorkeling, but not as nice for just plain swimming. Enjoyed it, but not the 5-stars I thought I was getting.

Excellent resort with very friendly and helpful staff. There are better beaches on the island but the one here is great considering it's literally on the doorstep.
