Weekend at Brands Hatch

Posted Oct 16, 2017
We booked through Expedia and there were some issues with the details passed on by them. I had a phone call from the duty manager beforehand asking if I’d accept a different room with a separate entrance (the cottage). The room had been recently refurbished and was lovely. There were a number of other Expedia customers affected and the staff were very diligent in sorting out their issues. Food was nice, breakfast was excellent but the beer was a bit pricey. Though this is probably me not being used to prices in the area. Good hotel cheap price it does what it says on the tin.

Pros: Easy to find. Convenient for Brands Hatch
Cons: Shower. Heating. Labelling of tea and coffee at breakfast - and some teaspoons!
Excellent location for Brands Hatch - about 20 minutes drive. Tesco Express and garage next door for provisions for the day. Couldn't seem to turn off radiator as and as the weather was very mild the room was too hot. Shower was a bit tempermental...temperature difficult to control and pressure low.

Displeased

Cons: To not have the heating on when the weather doesn't require it and les noisy.
Heating was on and room too hot, even thou we spoke to reception, it then came on @ 6.00am which woke us up and that was the of sleep.

Tired & Dissappointing

Posted Oct 10, 2017
Pros: Reception Staff
Cons: Almost everything
Hotel is very tired & needs brightening up. Room was clean but because of decor looks very dowdy. The breakfast was very unappetising with fried eggs sitting on a plate full of cooking oil. The staff at breakfast was practically non existent. Not welcoming at all. Didn’t show you where to sit or show you anything. Asked for sauce told it was over there & had to hunt for it myself. In fact only had a full breakfast on 1 of the 4 days we had booked in as it was not a good experience. Not all staff were unhelpful as the staff on reception were very nice & pleasant .

It was an OK experience. The staff ,that we met were all polite and very helpful. The food was good ,not a large choice but OK. The bedroom doors need something doing to them. It is impossible to close them quietly and when you are trying to sleep it is not nice to be wokenotified at 1.30 am by a door slamming!!!

Hotel in need of a refit

Posted Sep 19, 2017
Very tired hotel, room not too good. Blood stains on wall beneath sanitary towel bags. Towel rail not working or central heating. Beds comfy and towels good. Door into room very heavy to open and bangs when being shut. Outside needed a litter pick and gardens in need of tlc. Dining area had sticky floors, food ok but limited for breakfast.

Uncomfortable bed. Nosy till past midnight. Not very clean room. Fag ash on windowsill (in a non smoking room) and smell of cannibis along corridors. Quite disappointed as this used to be a nice hotel.

Nice looking hotel and restaurant.

Most of the staff were very helpful. Saturday evening there needs to be more staff in the Restaurant and clear process as there was confusion and some disapointment. There did not appear any dessert menu or drinks menu. Food listed was not available in this case it may have been better to have displayed Chefs Specials board and for Restaurant staff to be fully informed and to inform us as they gave the menus out that some items were no longer available. This may have avoided bitter disapointment experienced by a group of couple's who were looking forward to a wonderful evening. There was only 1chair to sit on in our twin bedded room it would have been nice to have 2 and the TV was on the small side.
