I was so disappointed with this property, certainly not 5* customer service nor rooms. I booked this hotel for 1 night for my husband's 70th birthday. A few weeks prior, I wrote to the hotel directly and asked for them to provide cava and fruit in the room for our arrival. Nobody, at any time, asked me what time but said it was OK on the day we arrived as check in was at 2. I called on the morning of his birthday, about 2 hours prior to our arrival and was told that there would not be any fruit and cava as I did not specify the time and It was impossible to provide until after 7 in the evening. I explained we were leaving at 7:30 to go for a meal with the family, and again said it was my husband 70th Birthday and was told, quite rudely, there was nothing they could do, so I had to cancel. I am pretty sure they could have found at least a bottle of wine somewhere. Its a 5* Hotel and it wasn't free. It really did put a damper on my surprise for my husband. When we arrived we went to our room to find that there were no hand towels, no bath mat, a small amount of toilet paper and the cardboard inside of the previous toilet roll was next to the open toilet. We then tried to switch on the TV, remote not working so we turned it on on the TV itself and a welcome message to Mr G......G.....appeared. Obviously not us.I would have expected more from a 5* Hotel. My husband enjoyed the surprise of the hotel but I was upset that what I was hoping did not come to fruition. Quite angry!!!!
