Rural, rustic retreat

Posted Sep 4, 2015 on Hotels
Beautiful interior. Rustic, traditionally Spanish in remote, wild surroundings. Few guests staying there. Fantastic swimming pool. Very near to Malaga airport, but our satnav took us the long way round. Friendly and helpful staff. Quiet and peaceful surroundings. This was a very pleasant contrast to the larger chain of impersonal hotels.

Great little find

What an amazing place in the middle of the national park. Hairy trip up to the hotel due to the sharp corners but well worth it. Would definitely recommend a visit.

This is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location away from the Costa. The staff were very helpful. Lovely pool. A lovely place to stay.

Very quiet hotel

Posted Aug 24, 2014
Pros: Breakfast, staff,
Cons: Internet, had wifi but no computer could of used, bike hire, sale of water in hotel
Location: malaga is 15 miles away to the south and various restaurants serving cheap meals (below standard) on road through mountains.
Very friendly and helpful staff but lacking in things to do. You have to reserve a table to eat in the evening even when the hotel is empty, but the 4 stars are well earned. Breakfast is a buffet and well worth it even though it doesn't start until 08:30. I think if I ever revisited Spain I would go back but not suited to solo travellers.

Hotel Cortijo La Reina

Posted Aug 15, 2011 on Hotels
The hotel is located way up in the hills overlooking Malaga, quite a windy road but worth the trip. Rooms ok, nice pool, good food, service at reception is very helpful but waiting staff are too few and very slow. Apart from that I would recommend the hotel for its beautiful location and good restaurant.

Idyllic location on the hills above Malaga

Posted Apr 8, 2010
Very hard to find, especially in the dark, but absolutely worth it. comfortable, tastefully decorated room in bungalow block apart from main hotel. Gardens to die for--- a place to relax in peace and one of the few I'd feel happy about staying as a single woman. Will go back.
