There was an awful smell of drainage from the bathroom and main bedroom area. The smell was toxic!!!! Nothing was done to eliminate this!!! Also pool are had food and drink left out for 3 to 4 days. Very windy the glass was smashed!!! Not goog for pool areas

Fantastic location near beach and marina complex. Yes, room decor was dated but everything was clean and the shower was powerful despite its looks. Great breakfast selection. I was worried about it being a dog friendly hotel as am not a fan of dogs but only saw one during our stay and it was leashed and quiet.

On the other hand we are a dog friendly hotel but they have their own restricted area during the breakfast and dinner. The hotel looks to have had a recent refurb in some of the rooms but unfortunately we had a more dated room (not an issue for us) still very clean and had everything we needed. Also blessed with the most beautiful sea view. Staff were lovely, great service, throughly enjoyed our stay here.

Clean and quiet but a bit sterile
Great location for walking to the marina and beach. Rooms (we had 2), though the bathrooms were a little dated, were kept beautifully clean and organized by housekeeping even when we didn’t leave til later in the day. Staff were mostly friendly, except one rather abrupt front desk receptionist, but Rafa, also at front desk, was FANTASTIC. As someone also in the hotel business is happily try to steal him for my small hotel if I could! We had a couple of minor issues but he went beyond the call to sort it out. The pools always had loungers available, no need to stress! Rooftop pool is very shallow but the water temperature very pleasant. Food at the pool bar was only ok. Smoothies didn’t seem to be fresh fruit. There was a bit of noise from roadworks but it wasn’t terrible though it did ruin the peace at the rooftop pool a couple of days. Overall a nice enough hotel if a little characterless.

In the restaurant at breakfast and evenings we experience great attention to detail from a man called William. He is top of his game and is a great advocate for the hotel. I would promote him if an opportunity comes his way. Loved the way he engaged with us about his travels and how much he enjoyed his work.

Great hotel
You have got to love a hotel that allows dogs but not children! The area that dogs were allowed was restricted so they did not impact other guests. Also great that sunbeds could not be reserved and this was enforced. Great location. Great rooms. Good breakfast

This hotel is nicely situated right across the Marina. Rooms and especially bathrooms somewhat outdated. However, the most disappointing was that the beach adjacent to the property was closed. The beach closure information should have been available at the time of booking or later prior to the arrival. If I have known about the closure of the beach, I would look for another accommodations.

Lovely location. Roadworks outside made entering the hotel less easy. Reception staff so helpful. However our bathroom seriously needed upgrading. Shower in Bath, difficult to keep temperature during shower. Breakfast cold in temperature.

This is not a 4* hotel must be their family that wrote excellent reviews bathroom filthy, dirty towels from previous people, rooms SO basic not even a pen and i paid for upgrade, lights not workong in the room and parties till 3 am management ignoring the situation, people shouting be quient, honestly i went for 4 days to rest.. couldn't wait to get home!!

Good points and not so good points .
Booked a premium room with sea view. Room 608 was very spacious as was balcony. Unfortunately from inside the apartment we looked into buildings and only had sea view from balcony - not great if raining! I would say it was a side sea view- see photos. I realise I could have asked to move rooms but as there were barking dogs in , probably the best sea view room, it wasn’t worth the risk. Unfortunately the food is very mediocre. Excellent location.

Fantastic proximity to Marina
We stayed in a sea view suite on the 5th floor for 3 nights. Lovely spacious room and bathroom. Great view and balcony. Furniture and bathroom a little tired and would definitely benefit from a bit of tlc/upgrading. However everything was very clean. There was a bit of a ‘drain’ smell from the bathroom too, don’t know if that was caused by the rain that coincided with our stay. The shared areas in the hotel were very nice and bright. I love the fittings and the bright paintings on the walls too! Breakfast was fine, and had something for everyone. Pool areas again were nice and spacious. Fantastic proximity to the Marina and beach. Overall we were happy with our stay.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Most of the staff were lovely and friendly although I think a warm welcome is very important and the lady who served us on reception whilst efficient lacked any warmth or friendliness. Rest of the team were all good though. Rooms were a little tired but I believe hotel is going through a refurb soon. Lots of bars and restaurants. Check out Palm 5 cocktail bar. Lovely views and lovely cocktails!

We had 3 nights at The Alay. A lovely hotel in a great location. Always extremely clean, good facilities but a shame that the jacuzzis weren’t working, and we didn’t see any hammocks. Breakfast was great with lots of choice. Pools great too, could have done with a few more umbrellas. I would certainly recommend this hotel.

Great hosting
My stay was good, all the hotel workers are friendly and smile does not leave their faces, services around the clock, the rooms are comfortable, my room overlooked the sea and the view was more than wonderful, the breakfast was wonderful and varied, I did not try dinner because we are often outside the hotel, and we enjoyed seafood meals Grilled on the coast.

A great hotel
The hotel was in a great area for the beach, shops and nightlife. I would definitely come again. At breakfast there was as much cava as you can drink ( yummy 😋) but only on the weekend 😫.

Superbly clean hotel, great friendly and helpful staff, brilliant sun terrace area very close to the Marina which is absolutely buzzing at night with a great array of restaurants.

Great location, lovely hotel two great swimming pools and a lot of bathing space. Nice gym and lovely relaxing receptions. The hotel is easily walkable to marina. Lots of amenities very close by. Special thank you to staff Mario and Javier, attentive and knowledgeable. The lift buttons were perplexing for everyone and need changing. The food although nice could be improved. Excellent holiday well worth the visit and we will be back.

Overall a great stay.
Overall a great stay. Clean, great service, punctual. Good views. Only negative thing was that aircon was not yet operating, so we hade to sleep sliding doors open.

We booked the hotel for 4 night stay. We looked at the pictures and the reviews and decided to book this hotel. We were very disappointed as soon as we walked in to the lobby. The lobby is carpeted and the smell was overwhelming. As soon as we got in to our room, things got even worst. The room needed some differed maintenance. The bed sheets had stains, the paint was peeling off in the bathroom and the balcony, the tub was in need of some TLC, etc.... We decided to cancel our stay and went somewhere else. The only positive was that the staff were very nice and had no issues canceling our reservation.

Lean and fun
Pleasant stay. If you are looking for a beach experience this is a good place. Right off the beach and a main promenade. Not the most elegant area but perfect for relaxing. Was very clean and had no qualms about staying there. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful.
