Basic and clean good value in Central location.
Hotel Juanita Review. stayed 15th may 2017. Good value at this price, yes Spartan but clean, and purposeful with central location for old Malaga. Helpful staff as I arrived an hour earlier than the agreed 1pm chek-in, and were able to switch me into an available room I was only here for a day as had overnight flight and with 2 heavy bags it was a drag from the taxi drop off at least 100m to the pedestrian location of the Pension. The Pension is on the 4th and 5th floor of standard Spanish apartment block with super slow lift, and not obvious to locate at first. But this this was only unsuitable for me as a heavy laden traveller, on a day stopover in Malaga. For a budget basis and clean digs in centre of authentic Malaga = perfecto.

Convenient city centre hotel
The hotel is centrally located and was easy to find after getting the bus from the airport. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes round about. Check-in was quick and easy and the guys on reception were really helpful and gave us plenty of useful advice. The room was basic but clean and had all we needed for a one night stay before moving on. The only disadvantages - out of the hotel's control - were that someone in the room next door snored loudly and we were disturbed by a mosquito! The room was close to reception and we did hear the phone ring at 4am.

Great value and location
Juanita Guesthouse is a great value pension right in the middle of Malaga town. The rooms were spotless and cleaned each day. The shared bathroom was also spotlessly clean. For a couple of days staying in town it's ideal and I would thoroughly recommend it.

Exceeded my expectations!
I'll admit I didn't expect a lot from this hotel because of the price. But I was pleasantly surprised. The room was comfortable and clean, the reception staff were friendly and exceptionally helpful with my questions about getting around the city. It was perfect for a one-night stay, even the shared bathroom wasn't a problem. The location is perfect, just a short walk from Málaga Cathedral and numerous excellent restaurants. The beach and historic sites like the Castillo de Gibralfaro and the Alcazaba are also within easy walking distance.

Affordable city centre accommodation
Ideal location in the heart of Malaga city centre and very helpful staff. I am a light sleeper and was a bit concerned by the noise e.g. TV, from the next door room. However, I did manage to sleep normally.

Great location, helpful staff who speak good English, downside - potentially sharing a bathroom if the hotel is full and there's no fan in the room for summer months & it can get hot and humid in Malaga.

perfect place for a little getaway
fantastic location and the staff are very helpful. Our room got quite hot without a blind, but we had a fan to cool us down. Perfect place to stay for a few nights!

The hotel was in a great location for shopping and eating at restaurants - also, the hotel workers were very helpful! the man at the front desk carried our suitcase to our room without us even asking. The room and bathrooms were very clean, and our room had an awesome view at Malaga. we would stay here again!!

We selected this hotel because of its location. Located on a quiet pedestrian street, it was close to everything in the downtown core. The staff went above and beyond to assist us. It's very basic, but well worth the cost.

Great central location
We enjoyed a large room, but it had no en-suite, the toilet was in the shower room down the hall, which may cause a problem if the hotel is busy, but it was a good powerful hot shower. It is very central in a great location, but not good if you have a car, but if you park in one of the nearby underground car parks, then they do offer an overnight subsidised voucher. Reception is on the forth floor, but it does have a lift!

Good for short stay
For one night it is ok, because the bathroom is shared between about 7 rooms. So in general you have to wait to take a shower in the morning. Besides that, the hostal is well located, in the centre of Malaga, staff is kind and helpful, room is ok and has a sink.

Great location
What we loved about the hotel is its location. It's in the center of town. All major attractions are just steps away. The room and shared bathrooms are big, cleanly and professionally prepared and serviced everyday.

Great budget spot in an excellent location.
Great location and good service. I recommend this place for short visits on a budget. Very close to all central attractions in the city of Malaga. Only one hiccup with staff. For some unexplainable reason they needed to close for a couple of hours as we were waiting for our cab. We were checked out so they Asked us to leave... Strange. They did come back to get our luggage. Service was excellent but there are things that they assume you know And offer no explanation for their actions and they are not apologetic about it. Maybe a cultural thing...

Fair stay in central Malaga
The location is the best feature of that hostel. One of the male receptionists, very friendly and helpful, was kind enough to recommend a nice place to have breakfast at since they don't offer that possibility in the house. Facilities were modest, common bathroom/toilet was a bit of nuisance in the mornings, wifi was working fine. Considering all the aspects, it was a satisfactory place to stay.

Great centrally located pension
The staff were very helpful and gave us more information than the Tourist Information office. The pension is very convenient for the centre and for breakfast cafes, and very quiet. The bed was really comfy and we had a continental quilt (unlike the rest of our stay in Andalusia), our towels were changed daily and the room was scrupulously clean and well maintained. Would highly recommend!

Noisy single room
Great location and friendly staff. The downside is i asked for a single room and the room given was next to a shared bathroom and the reception. Very noisy and lots of disturbances. I couldn't sleep wuthout ear plug! I asked for a change of room but they asked me to pay more... My advice is if you travel single, get a double room if you want to stay here for the location.

We stayed here during a quick weekend on the beach. The hotel was in an excellent location-- close to restaurants, bars, and shopping. We got in very late and the reception knew exactly who we were. They ask for identification each time you come into the hotel so we felt very safe. The room was very clean (and I have high standards) although the decor was dated--who cares! I would definitely recommend it to other travelers!

Two narrow streets up the Marques de Larios from Alameda principal, I´m glad I bumped into the receptionist at the street-door because I would have had some difficulty identifying the correct bell - the only sign says "pension Juanita, derecha" and there are about 12 bells. The pension is on the 4th and 5th floors. My €30 room; twin beds very clean, two towels TV and FAN - which I needed because Malaga is very moist. Looks onto the block well, nothing to see there except I could discern when the shared barthroom was vacant.

Good value for the money
Location was very convenient. It is within 3 minutes walk to Alameda central bus station. There are many shops and cafes surrounding the hotel. Hotel entrance looks old, but room itself was clean and well maintained.

It took us around an hour to find the hostel and there was no close parking! However, it was in the heart of the city center which was very good.

The staff are really friendly and the location is great, between the old town and thr new town. The bus stop for the airport is just three minutes away from the hostal. The wall is thin so you can hear the noises from the neighbours quite well.

It was ideal for our purpose. We wanted something good for an overnight transfer from airport to town centre and the port. it was very basic but clean. the staff very friendly and was in the heart of malaga in pedestrianised area close to plenty of eating and drinking hosteleries. we would use it again.
