The staff are what make the place. They will go above and beyond for you! It’s also beautiful! The rooms are clean and quiet. Not the fanciest hotel in the world but comfortable and comforting. Nothing left to be desired.

Overall an average experience staying at this hotel Positives - Friendly Welcoming Staff - Quality of the food was very good - Pool areas are very nice Negatives - Rooms are dated and need a refurb - Not enough Power points in the room - Checkout time says 11 on Hotels.com booking but it was 10am - Shoes went missing from the hotel room. The hotel were not very interested to look into why this had happened.

Nice choices: 2 pools (1 adults only); private beach area with chaises longes/thatch umbrellas; buffet each meal but you could get “snack”(burger/fries, fish n chips) any time plus there’s a separate pizza/pasta café. Scenic beach area with a turtle shaped rock; tide pools/coral to explore right there. Nice beach but really needs constant maintenance to clear the dead seaweed away. Beach covered with seaweed every day I was there (7 days), strewn with trash.

Great property okay food horrible check in service when they didn't recognize my booking from Orbitz. Took over an hour to get into the room and they demanded that we pay again. After many refusals they finally let us in. Lunch was worth skipping but breakfast and dinner were good. Beer is cheap and drink service is so slow we didn't bother

The hotel and staff seem tired. Uniforms are old and faded. Restaurant is completely disorganised with no plates or cutlery available for long periods leading to ques that consume most of the food... then another wait while they restock the buffets. Sad really. Think there is a lack of good management involvement driving down morale.

Can't beat Kenyan sunshine & hospitality!
We have been staying at this hotel every year since 1999 because we love it. Staff can't do enough to help and provide excellent service. If you find loads of children too much, avoid school holidays! Gets a bit noisy then but peaceful during term time.

Great stay
Our ocean view room was superb. Though the room was big old and furniture were basic and possibly they need sprucing up. But the location was fantastic. We could see the ocean from the bed. Services were great and people were genuinely hospitable. We would surely like to come back in near future.

It was amazing. I look forward to visiting again. The staff were very courteous and friendly except afew who seem to give more attention to the white visitors. The white visitors should not think they are better than the Africans and dictate that children are making noise for them. After all one comes with the children also for them to enjoy the enviroment

Lovely quaint hotel. Large scale and I am sure that during high season, it is more active, but it just seemed a bit overwhelming during low season. The amount of space in the room was fine, but the beds were hard as a rock. The resort does look a bit weathered and dated and for a coastal all-inclusive, I certainly expected more seafood dishes. All in all, it was a nice stay and the highlight was the level of service from the staff.

First class hotel
My wife and I stayed here for the first time. We ordinarily stay in 4 star all inclusive and the Turtle Beach was up there with the best of them. Superb staff, great food, we wanted for nothing. As a foot note it was at a time of a travel advisory and security was excellent but unobtrusive.

Wonderfull location, wide variety of food menu
It was great the location beside the beach, staff attention, variety foods, activities and the all the comfort of the resort. They had a special detail with us coz let us keep the room later than the usual check out time coz we had our flight to return Nairobi later, and it is so uncomfortable a long time waiting in a small hot airport. I have been there and I never saw so much seaweeds on the beach as this time, that gives to the beach and sea water a dirty look that makes you desist to take a bath in the Indic Ocean. We miss a TV in the room, and maybe that the entertaiments and music ended a bit early in the night. To improve: called Lamu rooms, for someone who has sleep issues are too bright in the early morning coz the sun shines too much directly inside the room, when the sunrise and next hours. An available opaque courtains would be a good idea for guests as I. Wonderfull place for couples and families vacations

Nice place at beach for families with children
I stayed with our two children (9 and 14) in August. For them the all inclusive is great. I asked my nine year old daughter what she liked most: "everything". I would not stay here alone or as a couple. Food in general is good, I would have liked more elaborated salads and fruit. Lots of activities, good watersport facilities like windsurfing canoeing and very helpful staff bringing the equipment to the water. My son learned windsurfing after a two hours course. We took a snorkel trip with the tbbc boat. Snorkeling was great. There are plenty interesting activities not far from the hotel. The beach boys are nothing to worry about. We had a very interesting presentation on snakes at the hotel one evening. The musical entertainment in the evenings is from the eighties and drove me to my room. The hotel is from the nineties but generally well maintained. All in all a great stay.

We gingen voor het snorkelen en duiken, dat was geweldig. Het personeel fantastisch, vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De kamer was ruim met balkon/zeezicht, goed bed en gedateerde, maar volledig functionele badkamer. Het eten goed en gevarieerd. Elke dag wat (lokale) entertainment. Wel vervelende mannetjes op het strand die safari's willen verkopen. Als je ze vertelt vertelt dat je al een trip naar Tsavo hebt geboekt, ben je gelijk van alle gezeur af. Wij hebben Tsavo via het resort geboekt, niet duurder, wel vertrouwder. Met de tuktuk naar Arabuko forest is ook een leuke belevenis.

Har jag hamnat på fel hotel?
Nej, det här var inte ok, inte alls ok. För det enorma priset 1600 pix hade jag förväntat mig något helt annat än ett shabby ställe ( utan chic någonstans ) Rummet enormt litet och slitet, badrummet i dåligt skick, knappt 2 droppar av något som kan kallas tvål  i dispensern i duschen nästan utan vatten , ac utan verkan, ja inte många rätt här. Stället i övrigt generellt nedgånget. Fick ofrivilligt helpension och nej det var inte värt det, maten ok men det var bara ok. Det positiva då? Personalen väldigt trevliga och serviceminded och läget vid stranden. Kanske kanske funkar det för familjen med barn men nej inte för oss. Ja det var det ingen skön historia.
