Great Hotel location

Posted Jan 4, 2018
Pros: Location.
Cons: Decor of the rooms and lobby. The food especially breakfast buffet needs to be improved. The water supply needs to be improved.
Location: The location is central and great. You can go anywhere in Lahore city from this location. It is close to all the major shopping areas and museums etc.
The standard of Avari hotel has no doubt deteriorated from years ago. The rooms need updating. The food is good but a little more variety will enhance the appeal and will make stay more pleasant. The hotel needs an uplift by updating the decor and the rooms. Overall service is excellent. The staff is courteous. However, the front desk staff does not know what they are doing as they charged me for 4 extra nights when I had stayed for only one night extra. I contacted the hotel staff and I am yet to hear back. I will file a dispute against the inappropriate charges of course.

Dear Mr. Amer, Thank you for your review and my apologies that you found the services were slow during your stay with us. I have taken this matter up with the staff concerned to ensure there is no repeat. The decor in the rooms is soon to be changed as we are at presently just finalising our mock-up rooms which will form the concept basis for the total hotel room refurbishment. I am also pleased to read that you found our staff courteous and found and the food was also good , I have however passed your comments onto our Executive Chef and his team to ensure that there is more variety provided as you had suggested. With the reference to your overcharges comment in your review we, under copy of a separate email, we have resolved this matter with yourself and confirm that there was in fact no overcharging made. Kind regards. Atif

Central

Nice hotel but needs major renovating in rooms. Staff could be a little more pleasant. The lobby is nice but rooms are ok. Room decor quite out dated.

it's about time they refurbished this place

Posted Dec 10, 2017
For the price you'd expect better but that won't happen here. The rates for the rooms are way above the standard that the customer is paying for and after nearly a year since my last stay I'd expect some improvements would have been made but not a reality with this lot. For one night they expect you to pay the equivalent of £119 including your tax but to be honest you'll be better off at the hospitality Inn or luxus grand which are far superior in standards and customer service.

Pros: It was in close proximity to the work I needed to do and meetings I needed to attend while in Lahore.
Cons: Update the rooms. You should have your best, welcoming people at the reception desk. Try caring about your customers!!
The hotel reception desk personnel were impersonal and lacked any semblance of customer service. They barely said a word to me at check-in and check-out and it took them a very, very long time to check me in and check me out. The bellhop delivered another person's luggage to my room. The room was outdated, and in poor condition through long use or lack of care. I was required to stay here for business reasons, but will not do so again. I did not enjoy my stay at the Avari and will stay at a different hotel for future trips to Lahore.

Never Again!

Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Hotel staff customer service. Renovate the rooms. Lower rates if you continue to employ rude staff and offer shabby rooms.
Staying at the Avari Hotel Lahore was the worst experience. We only stayed one day, but we couldn't wait to leave. The hotel check-in/out staff lacked customer service. No smiles, no greetings and they never asked how our stay was. The room we stayed in was outdated and shabby; I didn't want to touch anything. Our room had a small outdoor patio attached which was covered in pigeon feces. The patio wall paint was peeling and the wood floors were rotting in areas. It appeared as though the cleaning staff wiped down the patio chairs and table, but neglected cleaning the patio floors and walls. At 3:30 am, I turned on the bathroom light and a light popped and blew a fuse to the entire room, requiring a call to the front desk to have an engineer reset the fuse. For nearly the same room rates as the Avari, we would recommend staying at Pearl Continental Hotel instead. The Pearl Continental is nearby, has much cleaner rooms and better customer service at the reception desk. Plus, it has a better, larger buffet selection than the Avari. We will be staying at the Pearl Continental for all of our future stays in this area.

Nice but not quite 5 star

Posted Nov 14, 2017 on Hotels
This was my first stay at the Avari after having stayed at the PC, Hospitality Inn, Faletti and Luxus Grand hotels in Lahore. It was not as grant as i imagined a 5 start hotel should be. Bathroom had mould, no separate shower, pillows were stained and the hotel is generally run down and in need of a total refurb. The positives were the spa facilities, with a great masseuse.

Nice hotel - shame about the decor/reception staff

Posted Oct 20, 2013
Booked an executive double room with access to the executive lounge. Had to remind reception that the room came with transfer to the airport by private car. Reception tried to say that we could go by coach even though they could see we had a 7 month old baby with us and a lot of luggage. Further, reception tried to say that we had received an upgrade to our room even though we had already booked and paid for the same. Aside from the above 2 unfortunate points, our stay was a pleasant one.
