Funky, shabby chic property. Disappointing experience at check-in: two rooms reserved, larger room given to single guest at lower rate than the room assigned the couple.

Great place to stay despite extremely loud music in the bar on Friday and Saturday nights until 1am. Our room was above the bar but luckily had good sound insulation so did not bother us as much as expected, just background beat.

It was just what we need to have a week in Malmo. There were a few things that were strange, but I won't say what that was here. It was a nice hotel.

Excellent location to train station, restaurants, & shipping. Rooms very small and hallways too dark. Tough to find someone at the front desk in the evenings.

Great staff, location, breakfast and vibe. Rooms are a little dated but beds and bath are fine. My only complaint is that trash collection every morning at 7AM was LOUD for my room, so ask if they have anything quieter.

Great hotel, but not perfect
Fantastic hotel, would stay again. The sauna is useless which is a shame. And the inability to control the air conditioning in the room is frustrating, especially during summer.

This is a attractive & quirky hotel but acknowledges itself as a party hotel that get lots & lots of complaints from guests about noise but management care to do nothing about it, they also care to do nothing about the loud foul mouth conversations between staff that could be heard by anyone in the bar/reception area. If you wish to have a pleasant and peaceful stay in Malmo do not stay at this hotel. We were due to stay 2 nights but moved to another hotel on the 2nd night due the noise, hotel management ultimately accepted the unacceptable level of noise experienced by us as guests and facilitated a move to another hotel.

Don't go to MJ's hotel if what you're looking for is a good night's sleep. The hotel itself is in a great location, nicely decorated but the soundproofing won't save you from the DJ's thumping bass blasting until 1am in the lobby and bar. Not sure how often of an occurrence that is but the fact is that I had to wake up early the next day, I talked to the reception around 10pm and they said there was nothing they could do except give us earplugs, which did not shield me from the hotel room actually vibrating to the music. Very disappointed, won't be visiting this location or any hotel from the ESS group any time soon. I understand people are allowed to have fun and party but it shouldn't be at other guests' expense.

Malmo magic is MJ!
This was a very short stay. The hotel is fascinating and the decor truly amazing. The linen was soft and the bed gave us a really good dleep. The bathroom was great and had one of the best showers I have ever used! Plenty of bathroom products. Staff were so helpful and charming. The hotel is only a short walk from the train station on the one side and the old cafe/bar/restaurants on the other. Highly recommend it.

Quirky & imaginative - but it should be at the price. Obviously a popular place for people to meet & greet, but with the result that hotel guests perhaps get squeezed-out?

The rooms were great as well as the service outside of the restaurant. We only had breakfast in the restaurant and the system they have adopted for covid is less appealing. Breakfast elsewhere had been better.

A mushroom of mould growing in room 401 in the bathroom extractor fan. Shame that our room was above the road - so there was a lot of noise from the glass collection at around 2-4am. Would have been useful to have been told about that! Our last stay was lovely - in the rooms that are towards the back and not on the road. Breakfast is fantastic!

Excellent place....with really nice atmosphere! Really nice staff...from the restaurant to the front office...and house keeping. However if you get a room on floor 4...which I did...request a heater...because the aircon have problems to give you any heat at all. Also very few channels on the TV...but that is maybe good thing!
