Delightful hotel with all the facilities

Spent a week here, off season so quiet, but that's why we came. Everything was perfect and we made use of all the facilities.....swimming, tennis, sauna etc etc. The staff were always on hand, very knowledgeable on what to do and where to go. Restaurants were excellent, perhaps a touch pricey but it is A Kempinski!!!

Great hotel for a relaxing break

Pros: Outdoor swimming pools were extremely nice Breakfast buffet was good - French toast excellent The staff were all very friendly and helpful Rissotto in the trattoria was very good
Cons: Perhaps it was a little remote from the sights ( other than azure window) - so not much choice of restaurants nearby. But we were there in winter
Location: Azure window was very good. Early morning bird hunters made walking interesting! At the end of the year the countryside was a bit sun-worn.

Lovely hotel, but limited choices and junior staff

I had high expectations of the Kempinski hotel, unfortunately having left yesterday I feel disappointed in my stay. Despite the hotel listing 6 restaurants / bars the reality is there are only 2 available in the evening an Italian and a bistro which doubles as the bar. Food in the bistro was casual featuring amongst other things Club sandwiches as a main. There was a buffet on one evening. The bar feels more like a coffe shop than nice bar to spend an evening in. Oh yes because I forgot to mention it doubles as a coffee bar.... Staff move from the breakfast serving to the pool bar to serving in the evening restaurants / bar. Staff were inexperienced and did not give 5 star servicd that was expected often finding them for a table to be seated as opposed to them coming to you, if you want a drink at the bar you are better off going to get it yourself rather than wait as it takes forever for someone to realise you are waiting. Twice we got given the wrong food. One positive is Lisa on reception was brilliant, very attentive and followed up on any request and always had a sunny disposition! If this was not a Kempinski and 5 star I would have rated this higher as overall our stay was pleasant but expectations are high and sadly having junior less experienced staff not guided by management let this hotel down. To many people in suits looking the part but not managing the restaurants / service.

Amazing hotel

The hotel was so so lovely, the staff were exceptionally helpful and we can honestly say we have never stayed somewhere so nice. Food prices were a little out of our budget, but that is what you get for staying at a 5 star hotel. We rented a car and brought croissants in for breakfast and went out to amazing restaurants for dinner that cost half the price of that equvillant at the hotel.

Pros: Restaurants were fantastic. The Spa was really good.
Location: There isn't a lot to do... this is a great place to go if you are looking to disconnect. If you are looking to explore, you should stay on Malta.
I spent 4 days at the Kempinski San Lorenz in July 2016. I went alone to relax before connecting with a group of friends on Malta. The hotel is rather isolated, so it is great if you are looking to stay in one place... all the amenities are there - food, drink, pool, spa, etc. Everything is clean and the staff is very helpful. The spa is great and the hamman is wonderful. I tried both regular spa treatments as well as treatments at the Ayurvedic center.

Oasis in Gozo

Pros: Staff are tremendous. They do their best to ensure everything moves smoothly. The welcome in restaurants is first class.
Cons: The gym does not so the hotel justice.
Location: Gozo is small so the hotel is not far from anywhere. There are some delightful local restaurants that are walkable.
First class hotel run by friendly, helpful staff. This is a slick well-run organisation that provides high quality. There is the occasional blip - running out of Prosecco and forgetting an early morning alarm call. The gym has a worn feel although spacious but the safety of some of the equipment, dubious.

Kempinski hotel

Kempinski hotel is the best place i have stayed in which I have relaxed in it run my own business wich is very stressful and I find it hard to relax. I came back and new women. The hotel staff where friendly and helpful from the cleaning services to the management. The food was out of this world .where going back in September
