Gone down considerably in 4 years

We returned having been here 4 years ago, it was very disappointing from our first experience. Most of the lovely Maltese staff have gone apart from one who was still as helpful and courteous as we remember, but the other staff from many Eastern European countries have a lot to learn about customer service. We had to pay 20€ for the TV remote, and although it was refunded at the end of the holiday we have never experienced this before. Too many rules and regulations about what you can and can't do. The restaurant buffet food was not good at all, we have had better in motorway services. Needless to say we like Malta and it's people, they are welcoming and friendly, however if we return we will not be going back to this hotel. It felt like it was under new ownership and looked very tired needing a bit of a make over.
