"It's been everything pleasant and easy"
very good place with a beach side protected from the south wind (when present) so that to enjoy the beach and the snorkeling despite the sea outside was rough. It's a place very quite and fit for families with a very good kids club with open air activities (cocunuts hunting, crab hunting, handicraft with straw, sand castle and evening walks and play on the beach - bottom glass boat trip close to the beach), my daughter loved it and a lot of kids are there anytime. Snorkeling is good even not very far from the beach (trumpet fish, stingrays, corals and reef fishes, I saw also small lobsters and a couple of baby black tip shark). The mattress was not very confortable for me becasuse it was too soft and I suffered it because of the position. Buffet could be better but with a la carte menu one week can be enjoyed. Pizza was not good at all.

"Musket Cove"
Stayed for 5 nights in late October and have nothing but praise for the staff and the facility. We stayed in one of the 2-bedroom lagoon villas on Thompson Island which, I understand, are all privately owned. These villas had their own pool area which was very quiet & secluded. The bedrooms have air-conditioning & fans - the living space just has a ceiling fan - can be a bit warm if there's not much of a breeze. Kitchen has a fridge / freezer, 2 burner hob, toaster, jug & microwave. The villa's all seem to be well maintained & the house-maids tidied each day. The only comment I would make about the villas is that I thought it would be nice if there were a couple of loungers put on the decks - currently there is only a table & 6 chairs. Dining is at the Cafe on the wharf or at Dicks Place, a short stroll down the beach. Alternatively there is a store on the wharf which has pretty much everything you would require to self cater. Prices are a little expensive but you have to bear in mind this is an island location. Best place for drinks? The island bar out on the point, very reasonably priced. No shortage of activities - snorkelling, wind-surfing, kayaking, SUPing, fishing etc. and theres a track around the island for a walk or run. A 10 minute walk will get you to Plantation Island and Limani Resorts where there are additional restaurants and bars however you can't charge back to Musket Cove. All in all a fantastic holiday. Will we go back? Hell yeah!!!

"Beautiful staff, awesome views"
Easy going days, water crystal clear, lunch menu my favourite big selection and fast service. Well done keeping kids out of adult pool not like castaway adults ignore sign. Wait till they are kids free.

"Beach front Bure, snorkel from the beach."
This is a 2 star island, so do not expect 5 star facilities. We stayed in one of the newer bures which had floor length front windows and much more light than the older bures. Pluses- beach front Bure (all with AC) metres from the water. Clean and large enough for a king size bed (older bures had smaller smaller beds- maybe a double or queen?), small fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Meal plan at $85fiji per day not too bad. Snorkel from your Bure. It is the closest island from the mainland with only a 35min boat ride. Internet at F$25 for stay if you want. Minus- supposed daily housekeeping hit and miss (but they will attend if asked, I'm sure). Food gets a bit repetitive. Fijians work on Fijian time- just accept that 10am may mean 10.30...:-) The beach is full of coral, so wear beach shoes to protect your feet. The snorkelling is very handy as you don't have to get on a boat or pay extra, but it's not amazing. The coral lacks colour and there are only a few area where the fish are plentiful. The staff are very friendly and will try their best to please guests. The water that is free to drink tastes funny- maybe salty...? 1.25l bottled water is F$10@, so buy on mainland prior to. Also snacks as there are only twisties to buy on the island. There is no island shop/boutique, so cannot buy extra sunscreen, handicraft etc. Overall, I really enjoyed Bounty Island for the total relax getaway we planned it to be. 6 nts was just the perfect amount of time there.

Treasure Island is perfect size with great snorkelling from beach front and around reef dropoff around whole Island. Easy paddle to beachcomber Island where I caught free snorkelling trip to reefs in deep water. Stunning! Food good value a large carte (we took cereals for breakfast)

"Pure paradise"
I have just returned from a week stay at Beachcomber. What can I say I have found my paradise, the staff are all so friendly and can not do enough to help you. I did not carry my luggage once on the island. The resort itself is small but there are plenty of activities to. Choose from and there is a programme everyday. The rooms are great, I stayed in a beachfront bure which was perfect for me. I would definitely reccomend this place to anyone who is young and likes to meet new people, I was travelling alone but I got chatting to lots of different people from all over the world. The only thing that could be improved is the food at dinner time needs to be hotter. Sometimes it was out too early and was left to cool. Good choices though, something for everyone. I will miss this place 😊

Pocket Guide: Mamanuca Islands, Fiji Family Hotels

A group of small islands offshore from Nadi, the Mamanucas are ringed by sandy beaches, turquoise to pastel green waters, and coral reefs. Access is a quick hop from Nadi via boat or plane transfer, and accommodation options range from budget to luxury, and bures (traditional thatch-roof huts) through to exclusive beachfront villas. Scuba diving and snorkelling in this region comes highly recommended.
