Nice view of the city

This hotel is comfortable and has all the essentials during your trip to Managua. It also has a nice view of the city as added bonus.

terrible stay

Cons: everything
Location: don't even remember
terrible stay the staff always keep an on you to see how much food you eat and if you are using the pool not only that they only use American money. it was a terrible expirence.

Nice experience....!!!

I will go back... The breakfast was very nice and fresh...!!! They need to review the air conditioner programming, sometimes the doom is too warm.

Last minute trip to Managua

Last minute business trip to Managua, normally I will stay at the competition but unfortunately was full, my next option was the Barcelo which generally is fine but this one... It notices how old it is, although they property have good general maintenance, the carpets, the furniture and bathroom fixtures are in pretty bad shape. Upon my arrival (9:00pm), my reservation was not foun and of course they blame Expedia for that. If you are looking for a clean place, on a good location with a limited budget, this is your place.

Good choice for business travelers

Pros: The rooms are comfortable and the staff is always friendly and helpful -- even when I have to check out at 5:00am to catch the first flight out.
Cons: Sometimes housekeeping is uneven. I might be missing one or more towels and the water bottle will not be replenished. Cleanliness is spotless.
Location: If you can get a guide, go visit the Huembes market for a real taste of the local culture. Granada, Léon, Volcan Masaya.
My experience - and I have stayed at this Barceló property on five trips to Nicaragua in about two years - is that I have no hesitation in going back and recommending the property to colleagues and friends. WiFi works (though it's not the fastest in the world it is reliable), the plumbing works, everything works, and there are usually enough nice towels, plus a complimentary bottle of water most days. When time permits the pool is also quite nice and a tip ... ask for a room with an even number overlooking the pool with a view out to the lake. (It can be loud on karaoke nights but I prefer that over the view of the road.) The included buffet breakfast is plentiful and always features comidas tipicas - local foods - that should be tried, as well as more familiar options such as pancakes.

Barcelo

First of all, I like Barcelo hotels, I stay there in Guatemala, Costa Rica, Dominican republic... However, this one is not in the same level. They were supposed to pick me up from the airport and nobody came, check-in took me 40 minutes with no one in front of me and after check-in time. They explained that in Nicaragua they were not used to tourism, I think that is a poor excuse. Service during breakfast was poor, I had to go and pour me coffee and water half of the days. Barcelo's rooms are always kind of old, but at least they are big, these ones were not. They don't have club premium either. Checking out also took me a really long time, including mistakes in my invoices, people around me were having the same issues. It is not a horrible hotel, but do not expect the service and amenities of a regular barcelo. I probably won't be coming back.

Bad experience

Front desk staff constantly in a bad mood and un-friendly The worst internet conection in Managua ... and even worse having to pay $25 a day for better internet and still not being able to work because of slow internet speed The worst food. There isnt a single cook than can produce a plate of food that is eatable I am never ever staying at that hotel again. Not even if they invite me to stay there for free

Nice location of Hotel

Everything was fine at the hotel, room, staff, room service was a plus, good breakfast, just some discrepancy on the size of beds. We used a double room with two queen beds, according to the hotel advertising, but the real size is full beds, makes it a little uncomfortable for three adult people.
