Very disappointed! Not a real Crowne Plaza!

Posted Nov 5, 2015 on Hotels
Very disappointed! This hotel was not even close to being a true Crowne Plaza...The property is old and run down with little evidence of regular maintenance. The air conditioning and the wifi did not work in my room...Had to change rooms...The equipment in the gym is well worn and not maintained...The only positive was the quality of the service and the food in the restaurant was respectable...I would not recommend this hotel to anyone as it is clearly not worth paying over $100 per night to stay there...

Dear Mr. Chris, Kindest regards from all the staff of the Crowne Plaza Managua. Thanks for letting us know your experience in the hotel I assure you that your comments are very valuable to us. I inform you that from December this year will begin the remodeling of the hotel, and will be in all areas of the hotel, from the rooms to the public areas, we would like once the remodeling ends you can visit us again and so try a new and fresh product. Very disappointing unfortunately

Cons: Remodeling or updating the rooms will be a great idea. Understanding that the customers are the most important asset for them.
Location: I din't leave the hotel.
I saw the pictures on the Expedia page and I thought this would be the best hotel in Nicaragua....it's not. I arrived to Nicaragua at 8:30am in the morning because there's no other later and direct flight from Guatemala to Nicaragua. When I was checking in I was told that the room wasn't available until 1pm that day. I told the receptionist that I was very tired and he told me that there was only one room left, "the presidential suite". I asked him to give it to me joking and then he told me that he would do so by $30 USD more, and I agreed as I needed to rest. When entering the room, I could see that it was a huge room, but very old. It made me feel like there was long time ago when someone stayed there. There were no hand towels! There were no water bottles or glasses! Honestly there wasn't anything to make me feel special, and specially because it was the presidential suite! Before that, I asked if I had breakfast for free and they told me yes, that I could have it the following day starting at 8am I believe. I asked him if I could take it the same day as I arrived as the following day I needed to take a flight in the morning and I would have to leave the hotel at 5:45am, so I wouldn't be able to enjoy breakfast the following day, he told me that it was not possible so I had to pay for it. Later, I went to the bar and I ripped my jeans with the corner of a pillar that was brokenin the corner. So overall, it wasn't a pleasant experience.

It's an old hotel with the old funk smell. If possible better to go somewhere newer.

Good old but very old

Posted Aug 31, 2015 on Hotels
Great location, 5 stars among the other hotels, but 3 stars on a world wide category. The executive room is large but VERY OLD, with very small bathroom, bad water flow, old plumbing fixtures, no fridge in the room, bad AC system (dual, one worked the other didn't) and worst of all is the VER dirty carpet !!!!

Managua Stay

This hotel had the best service I experienced in the entire country - coming from NYC this was a very tall order but the Intercontinental Managua really delivered. Our waitress Katiusa was amazing.

Best hotel in Managua

I stayed at the Hilton, crown plaza and the holiday inn before. This hotel is the best, they had issues with the elevators but other than the hotel was clean and modern with great service at the dinning room
