Fantastic, the staff was amazing.

Posted Oct 16, 2016
Location: Everything is walking distance to the hotel. If I come back to Granada I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
Everything was really close to walk to. There is plenty of restaurants, shopping, coffee shops and markets near by. The hotel offers a buffet breakfast and a really cool chocolate store and drink bar. The pool area is large and has an outdoor bar. The staff is amazing and will help with all of your needs. Tony is fantastic. Very helpful and knows all the best places to shop and eat. He should be the manager!!

Disappointing Hotel

Posted Aug 2, 2016
Pros: Sadly, there was nothing I liked about the hotel.
Cons: Everything needs improvement. Beginning with common courtesy.
Location: It is not even a great location. No views to speak of and not close to the central plaza/park area.
Extremely disappointed with our stay there. RUDE and unhelpful staff. Air conditioning did to work and there was no ceiling fan to help with cooling situation. There is not a phone in the room to call reception. There were No towels, No shampoo nor conditioner, No shower caps, No lotion, No bath mat. When I walked downstairs to ask for these things I was not given towels to take up. I was told I had to wait and they would be brought up to us. When we did get the towels we only got two bath towels. No wash cloths nor bath mat. As for the shampoo and conditioner, I was told that all they offered was the body wash that was in an attached container to the wall (like the ones that are found in public restrooms for hand washing purposes) which had to be pumped and all you got was a tiny bit per pump. They said they did not offer lotion, nor shower caps. Terrible food in restaurant and drink selection (soft drinks and juice) was very limited. The sheets were clean. Pool was very nice but closed way to early in the evening so we did not get to enjoy it. Overall stay was very awful and so not worth the money we spent. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL.

Hola D, we are sorry that you have experienced our hotel in such a way. We at Mansión De Chocolate try our best in making our customers stay a relaxing, good and comfortable stay. When the AC does not work and we are notified we do send a maintenance guy right away and if the problem can’t be fixed, we change you to a different room. We thought that bringing the towels up to your room would be a service and not seen as a bad point. The container that is attached to the wall has nothing to do with public places, the reason why we do it like that is because we want to minimalize trash it is a green thought, environment responsibility, it does not have limited amount of pumps so you can pump more than ones which will result in more soap. Our all you can eat breakfast offers a variety of typical Nica breakfast and American breakfast what is cooked right in front of you and what is fresh, we offer different salads, sandwiches and snacks at the pool but for dinner we recommend other places to go out to. Our pool bar closes around 6pm 6:30pm but if you want to go swimming after that time it will not be a problem to us! We are located less than 2 minutes from the central park and main street of Granada to us we would say that it is pretty close and if you walk up to one of our terraces there definitely is a beautiful view of the Mombacho and cathedral/ other view points of the city. Anyways we do appreciate your comment.

Best hotel in Granada

Posted Jun 19, 2016 on Hotels
The hotel made our stay in Granada , it is a chocolate museum and an amazing old colonial/Spanish style building. The pool and bar are beautiful. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful - especially tony at concierge. Massages and spa treatments are half price when staying at the hotel. There is free secure parking. It also looks like a great place to learn Spanish as everyday in the courtyard they had one on one tutoring going on. I would highly recommend

We are pleased to read that you find our staff incredibly friendly and helpful, at Mansión De Chocolate our customers are very important to us. Disappointing service and treatment

Posted Apr 13, 2016 on Hotels
When we arrived at the hotel we had booked a triple deluxe room with a city or mountain view and instead were placed in a small room with 2 single beds on the first floor for 4 people. When we asked why we were told they were booked and had no other option but would not compensate us. Only after many complaints did a room all of a sudden become available at 10pm at night that was bigger but still no view. We were never told how to get the free breakfast included and had to ask several times and be directed back and forth between the front desk and cafe to finally be given tickets for the meal. The housekeeper never came to clean our room after being out all day on Saturday. The hotel has a great location but sadly they treated us like we were an annoyance not guests. They were not helpful when we asked for explanations. When we left we asked about the inconvenience of having to move twice and not getting the room we booked and they told us they would not compensate us but we could go to the spa (we were checking out and had our bags packed when this was offered so it was basically meaningless). They were so many nice hotels at the same or less price closer to the plaza that were much friendlier and did not treat you with such disregard I would stay elsewhere.

Hello Karen! Thank you for your comment. It is important that the room you have booked you will receive, the rooms are right at the terraces we have on the first floor it is possible to sit on the terrace and enjoy the view. The breakfast is right next to our reception and is hard to miss we do forget sometimes that it can be a bit vague to our customers because to us it seems very logic, if you go down with your key all of the employees know that you are a customer here so you can just ask for whatever you want. Our cleaning team cleans the whole day everyday unless our customers don’t want their room to be cleaned we clean the rooms. We are sorry for the miscommunication, we at Mansión De Chocolate try to make it a comfortable stay at our hotel. It is a bit meaningless to offer the spa at the moment of leaving we are sorry for this we should have offered it earlier. Mansión De Chocolate.

In the heart of town!

Posted Apr 6, 2016 on Hotels
Good swimming pool, friendly staff. Breakfast was okay. We stayed in the Butter room. There was no shampoo or soap in the shower. The sink was horrible, could barley get your hands under the tap to wash. They gave us some bottled water the first day but not the second. When we asked for more the woman at the front desk gave me a sour look. You cannot drink the water from the tap and there was no store near to purchase. Would be nice to have a small fridge. It is close to the centre of town. Walking distance to most places of interest.

Hola William! Thank you for your comment! Glad to read the staff was friendly, we at Mansión De Chocolate like unique art and so is our sink it is a unique piece, if you look throughout the hotel you can find more different art made by locals. Our furniture is also special made for the hotel so that we are different. The first day you get bottled water from the house, when our customers want more drinks water/soda/etc. it is possible to buy it in the Choco Museo or in the bar at the pool. Furthermore if you want to buy it outside the hotel there is a quick stop market 20 meters away from Mansión De Chocolate. Enjoy your day and perhaps see you the next time! Mansión De Chocolate

Bon hôtel, piscine ++

Posted Mar 21, 2016 on Hotels

Nice facilities - terrible staff

Posted Mar 10, 2016
Myself and my friend stayed in the hotel for one night, in that night our room got broken into- the management moved us but only on us server my complaining- they ignored us in the morning and we were made to feel a nuisance. As two girls traveling alone this is unacceptable we did not feel safe and the staff didn't care- also the facial I had was probably the worst in my life

Great Value & Location

Mansión de Chocolate was a great find while in Granada. The value for what we got was fantastic. Loved the pool and the central location near to Central Park & Calle La Calzada.

Amazing pool but not worth the price

Posted Jan 21, 2016 on Hotels
Very well located hotel with a great pool. The room looked more like a bodega, dark and humide but it was clean. The staff was helpful but try to sale you over expensive tours. The breakfast wasn't great, you better take it outside. Definitely not worth the price you pay for the room

Hola Kevin, thank you for the comment. Glad you’ve liked our location and pool. There are different rooms you can choose from and of course the deluxe rooms are bigger and located on the first floor with large shared balcony what means they have got a better view with more light. The tours we offer are secure and exclusive for our customers, we also offer the cacao tours and chocolate workshops which we are the only ones that offer. Our breakfast offers typical Nica and American breakfast options and we cook it in front of you with fresh products, it is a pity that you did not enjoy it that much. Thank you for staying with us enjoy the rest of your day! Mansión De Chocolate
