Appearances can be deceiving

Pros: Nothing - too many problems that needed to be fixed
Cons: Communication; offering a credit for providing bad customer service
Terrible experience - Person at front desk did not show to check us in for almost 5 minutes. They were painting and the paint smell made my family sick. The next morning, we had no hot water. And we had to cut our visit short, so I cancelled the last night, but have not received a credit for the night not stayed. This staff did not have concern for the customer. If we knew they were remodeling (painting) ahead of time, we would have made other arrangements. We were there for a funeral of my wife's mom, so it was not an enjoyable visit, and these "issues" just added to the pain my family was experiencing. Last time we stay here!

Broken

Pros: Clean
Cons: Fix all things broken, juice machine, stopper in sink, stains on carpet, stain on quilt, etc.......
There were many things broken or in disrepair. Staff professional but not really friendly and welcoming.

No Hotel At All

The hotel almost caught on fire a few days earlier and nobody knew about it? I almost got stranded in Manassas with my family, and ended up getting the last hotel room available there--no kidding. I am thankful Expedia did provide me with a full refund. Thank you.

An emergency shut down report was sent out and we were informed from the travel sites that they would contact guest for refunds and relocations. "Closed due to fire" But I was never contacted!

Upon arrival, I noticed a sign on the front lobby door that said "Closed due to fire." When I parked my car the hotel owner came out and I had told him that I had a reservation here for that night. He said "you should have been contacted 3 days ago about the fire" At this time I had just drove 13 hours from IL and was absolutely exhausted, and I had NOT been contacted by anyone. I asked him what he expected me to do at 9pm at night that I was from IL and no one had contacted me. He asked who I booked the reservation with, I said hotels.com, he goes "oh well then you have to contact them." After I contacted hotels.com they assured me this hotel HAD NOT informed them of a fire. I had to spend an hour searching for another hotel room at 10pm at night during a time where most places were booked because of a big event that was going on the next day. Luckily I found something but ended up having to pay $70 more than I had originally paid. I was not satisfied to say the least, and will not come back to this hotel if they open back up after their fire due to the incompetence of the hotel staff who should have contacted hotels.com and made sure everyone who had reservations were contacted and refunded. Luckily hotels.com got my refund back right away.

Great Value!

The hotel was clean, quiet, and the service was great. The WI-Fi was ok, but I had some trouble connecting. The breakfast was good enough. Overall a great value and I would stay again.

Nice hotel close to DC

Pros: Had a free breakfast which was a big help and savings. The room was quite large and the small refrig and microwave was a big benefit.
Cons: The king bed was made with flat sheets and did not stay in place at all. Fitted sheets are so much more comfortable.
Location: This was in the town of Manassas and the civil war battleground monument was great. Clost to all the memorials in DC also
We were attending a conference and we were able to stay here and be more economical then in Arlington where the conference was held.

Do not recommend

Cons: Staff could be more attentive to guests needs and fix issues. Add a pool.
Good price, but no pool, minimal breakfast choices (waffles, cereal). Had funny smells throughout hallways and elevator. Elevator consistently smelled of smoke. Guests are smoking right outside the door with signs posted "no smoking allowed on premises". Our room had ants, and the door was difficult to open and didn't close on it's own. We had a plugged toilet and staff gave us a plunger to fix ourselves instead of coming up and doing it. Busy road to get in and out of, if in a hurry for something you may need to plan extra time.
