Mont saint Michel is a great place to visit, but we arrive by car to the parking and after we had a long walk to take the shuttle, when arrived to the hotel it was very hard to transport our luggage on unlighted stone stairs. The rooms had no safe. And the Restaurant of La mere poulard is Very Expensive …. THE OMELETTE price is between 42€ and 95€.

The wifi did not work and our room was noisy. Apparently every room is noisy, since delivery trucks arrive before 6 AM. Also the food is unexceptional. However le mont st Michel is spectacular.

Cool old hotel but not super comfortable
The hotel was quaint and was in a great location on the island. But the room was hot (no air conditioning) and we didn’t want to leave the window open because people could walk right by our window and see into the room. There were also no screens on the window, so we had tons of bugs in the room.

It was ok but nothing to talk about. The only thing that made up for stay was the view because i paid extra for it. OLD! outdated and needs updates unclinding carpets. Way over rated and forget their famous omelette restaurant.Rude staff at the restaurant when you spend $100 for 2 omelettes. The perfect trap for tourist!

This is an old, charming property, which I like. The location was excellent. This is an island of stairs, so pack light. A backpack makes travel easy. I would stay in this hotel again, but I did regret opting for a garden level and instead of upgrading to a higher floor. I hadn’t realized it’s not a private garden, and sometimes tourists walked by our window. Because of this we couldn’t leave our windows open to cooling breezes at night. We stayed overnight to avoid the crowds, which was ideal. The shuttle parking was very easy, costing 20 euros in September. We avoided lines in either direction thanks to arriving opposite traffic in the late afternoon and leaving in the late morning. We got a sunset dinner in the evening, and had lots of space and no line to tour the abbe in the morning. Breakfast was excellent at the hotel, with a lovely view. Staff was friendly, and we enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

We wanted a one night visit to the very unique Mont St.Michel and La Mere Poulard had the perfect location just below the Abbey right on the island. Although there is little privacy and the seagulls wake you up early, the room was surprisingly large with a spacious bathroom with a deep bathtub my wife quite enjoyed. It included a buffet breakfast that was understaffed but we just helped ourselves and found everything we needed. It’s a little expensive for what you are paying for the unique location and one night is all you need.

We truly enjoyed our stay here. It was very convenient to be on the island with the abbey. We were able to walk the streets without all of the crowds. It was like staying in a novel.

Where's my hotel? Right as you enter the city!!!
Amazing location! Didn't know if it was safe to be on ground level and have a window wide open for comfort. We needed a shuttle in the a.m. at 6:30 the next day. Concierge was unable to reach anyone upon arrival. We have limited french. We had to WALK back to the parking area.

Pack light, lots of steps to rooms, no ac. We arrived in July on the 9th weather was not to bad, in the 70’s. Parking is about 1 1/2 miles away, with tram pick up close to parking area 3. Lots of history, it is a must see.

Fix your sink, it’s constantly backing up. You need to clean the pipes. Also, clean the kettle. It has a very nasty smell (most likely hasn’t been cleaned in a while).

They need to place screens on the windows, we spent all night swapping bugs and flies, the rooms have no a/c or ceiling fans. It’s hot at night and you need a window open but it is impossible to sleep. Amount of noise from dragged fighting at night and bugs flying in we did not sleep well at all. I love the location, breakfast is not good. Basic bread toast with water down eggs/ no protein and cold mini pancakes.

This hotel was not kept up to date. The rooms were not air conditioned so we had to leave the windows open all night. The birds kept us up all night. The breakfast was subpar and the patrons had just one person manning the breakfast buffet. Overpriced for what you get. The food at the restaurant was good. Again, it appears that it is a brand that just uses its old reputation of good hospitality and good food. Looks like their business model has changed quite a bit since 1888. Of course just my opinion!

Historical place but not cleaned, not maintained, people not friendly. This place lives from it's history. Nobody working there seems to care about the property or their customers. I never had breakfeast in such a dirty place. I won't go back.

There were a lot of stairs…would suggest packing a weekend bag instead of taking your full luggage. Room was clean and had a great view…breakfast was included and was adequate. We had diner there one night and the famous omelette was all it stated…a must try.

Mould Issue and Unresponsive Staff
The positives were the great position just inside the entrance to Mont Saint Michel and the restaurant had good food. We were in the building behind the main hotel. The room was basic for the cost (I guess you are paying for the position), but it served the purpose. However, there was a significant amount of black mould in the corner of the ceiling over the shower, as well as in the grout around the bath. We made a complaint at the front desk and showed a photo to the receptionist. She appeared suitably horrified and wrote a note for the cleaning staff. The next morning we showed the cleaners themselves, who also appeared horrified. However, the mould remained and there was no offer of another room . When we checked out, the same receptionist said the cleaners had tried to clean it off, but we could see no evidence they had. Very poor.

I called the hotel to get instructions on parking and I was given a code but wasn’t told specifically where to park. I had to squeeze every bit of information from them. The room was clean but like the mold in the bathroom tiles.

Bear bones staff, great ambiance!
The hotel is old, but clean. They seemed to be short on staff. A vacuum cleaner and "pack and play crib" remained in the narrow hallway to our room for the 2 nights we were there. The included breakfast was good, but again the staff didn't bus the tables, fix the coffee machine or refill salt and pepper shakers. Kelly the receptionist was very nice and informative.

It was a dream to stay on Mont St Michel! Our stay was pleasant and comfortable. I loved opening our window to a garden outside our window. Breakfast was perfect! Eggs, cereal, toast, yogurt and coffee.

Aucun message regardant une réception dans un autre endroit que la réception marque dans le premier bâtiment avec le nom de l hôtel. Cependant Le réceptionniste une fois trouvé était très accueillant et professionnel. Cependant le combo demi pension n En valait pas la peine. Le menu est limité et n arrange pas les allergies alimentaires. La chambre pourrait être rénovée tout en gardant son charme d’ancien. Le wifi inexistant. Bonne chose que j avais mon gel douche ou je me serais lave au shampooing. Pas de signe”ne pas déranger” donc sans surprise la femme de chambre a tenté de rentrer…très tôt. Peut de choix pour rester au Mt St Michel, Mai’s honnêtement toute personne voulait un hôtel décent devrait aller ailleurs et en aucun prendre l’air demi pension.

The hotel is living off of its past from 1920, 30, 40. The facilities are in dire need of renovation. The staff is none existent. There is nothing to do past 8pm. You cannot order drinks with a meal. The room is old. The shower is a tub that does not drain. There is no soap or shampoo provided. The dinner food is old school at the hotel, I would not rate as a Michelin restaurant. The transportation from the parking lot is ssa backwards (if you go you will know what I mean). The Location for a day trip is exciting and interesting. There is no need to spend an night at this location.
