Arrived considerably before check-in for an event elsewhere. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful with putting my suitcase in storage, as were those on duty in the restaurant in the morning for breakfast.
I have had the pleasure of staying here several times, staff are very friendly and helpful, gym and pool are good and the gym has recently undergone a refurbishment, renewing most if not all machines, two pools, hot tubs as well as sauna and steam room available.
I will be staying here again in coming months.
The rooms were comfy but would benifit from some furiture upgrades.
Breakfast was ok. Would be better of they had local quality sausages .. not much choice for the continental and yoghurts were cheap. Very nice grounds foe a walk.
The hotel decor/ styling a little basic but made up for by the friendliness of the staff. The highlight was being able to pop across to the leisure centre as their facilities are amazing.
The staff were all lovely and considering my son and I were recovering from a ling term illness they were super helpful in the evening.
Although family "friendly" and all staff were friendly enough I wouldn't recommended it for other friends with kids of a similar age.
Anorher excellent stay. Clean warm room. Only downside was leisure centre closed for refurbishment but was aware of this when booking, looking forward to next visit in Jan 24.
Staff welcoming and friendly throughout up to and including checkout.
Restaurant (tho unavailable Saturday of our weekend stay due to a function) was immaculately clean and the food and service was superb.
Few minor snags with our rooms "loose tap" "shower only a trickle" "radiator heating" but otherwise a comfortable pleasant environment.
Lovely and picturesque this time of year especially with the presence of snow while we were there. Friendly helpful staff. The room was nice and comfortable beds and pillows.
The floor was stained in several places though.
Nice place to stay.
Really nice staff, but reception area felt cold. Room warm & comfortable bed, nice fluffy towels. Shower could be better(rainfall maybe) but ok. Water hot enough.
Quiet room (42)
The bar area was nice enough & we did make use of the leisure centre with a large pool, sauna, jacuzzi & steam room all working!
The breakfast was really good with a good choice of hot & cold food & pleasant staff.
A decent hotel for an overnight stay!
I have stayed here many times, staff are great, pool and gym are great.
Room I had, brand new mattress, a little too firm for my liking, otherwise everything as good as usual, and probably be staying there again before end of the year.
The service and friendliness of the staff was great, The food was of a good quality. My only negative comment would be that the double bed was a small double. My feet hung over the end.
The pool facilities were amazing, the food was great I was so full I could not eat a pudding! Great friendly staff. They really looked after me.

Clean, spacious comfortable room but shabby hallways - duct tape
holding down ripped carpet on stairs on corridor towards room 59.....delightful and helpful house-keeping staff. Excellent gym and spa facilities. Phoned reception when hot water suddenly stopped midway through running a bath....no apology but long winded explanation about problems in area...when I said cold water was still running it changed to boiler being serviced....no apology not informing guests until I asked for one.
Later one receptionist who knew what she was doing and was helpful did apologise.
Confusion about paying for stay...I had prepaid via expedia but hotel said payment declined....Expedia rectified matter promptly when I contacted them.
Would stay there again but hotel needs to improve keeping guests informed, it's dealings with Expedia and the state of the hallway carpets (there's a risk of injury)

Not one for business stays
The hotel looks very nice but my room fell short. The shower was actually painful - it felt like it was ripping the skin off my bones! So i ended up using the shower in the gym/pool which was far from convenient as it is in a totally separate building down the road. The wifi signal was useless, as was the TV signal. This hotel seems more aimed at weddings than business guests.
The hotel has been sympathetically built on over the years. All staff were pleasant and happy to deal with any queries and the food was excellent. Well done chef. Very clean and well liked after. Will return again.
Checking in could have been more friendly. Very helpful receptionist. Another receptionist was less than helpful - not inviting either in her tone or manner. The whole hotel needs a major overhaul - dated visually and the room smelled the same. It was also very noisy - doors slamming and noisy guests. A car was also damaged in the car park. Overall, the stay very disappointing and did not represent good value for money. I would not recommend this hotel.
A delightful hotel. Set in its own grounds you would not know you are close to the centre of Bury. Nice easy check in with a very helpful receptionist. The room was immaculate as was bathroom. An excellent choice of evening meals in the restaurant freshly cooked and sensibly priced. Restaurant service was prompt and waiting staff were friendly and professional, Breakfast was freshly cooked and although self service there were two ladies available to assist if needed. Excellent value for money and a very pleasant stay
