This property is in dire condition and I took pictures to back up the following statements where applicable. 1) At check-in you are told housekeeping comes every 3 days (on the morning of the 4th day) - they never came and so we checked out on the 4th day, read on. You are also told there is a $50 resort fee ( for what is unclear, a gym, a pool? ) 2) The exterior is peeling everywhere, roof tiles are missing (something I saw each time I left my room). 3) The room - peeling wall paper on all walls, slopping floors, mystery stains on a carpet so soiled it was hard and crackled underfoot to the bare foot, the outlets were at least 20 years old meaning no up to date plugs, the taste of dust in the air, mould lining the shower in the bathroom, a cracked sink with negligible drainage. On the plus side the A/C worked, the beds were comfortable but the bedding was old, the toilet flushed properly. 4) The food - no in room coffee maker, morning coffee at the front desk was coffee flavoured water. I was so concerned about the room and mould I didn’t dare try any of the food. 5) Staff - few but friendly and they know the place is an embarrassment because when checking out early there was no question or objection, just a resigned acceptance that an early sign out was not unusual. Sadly when I checked in to a chain hotel, the on duty staff bit their lip and only said it was sad but such was the condition of a remarkable historic building. The place needs millions in renovations, millions!
