We'll be back, this place was perfect....

We spent Easter weekend visiting our daughter, who attends Mankato State. This hotel was perfect. The room was big enough, the beds were comfortable, the staff was friendly and the breakfast choices were great. We enjoyed the hot tub one night, and we ate in the dining area (made sandwiches) even outside breakfast hours. We appreciate that they leave supplies out for use; there is always a tray of cookies and coffee, as well as yogurts and milk. They don't lock up utensils, paper plates, etc. like so many hotels. We appreciate that they trust their guests to be respectful. I used the treadmill in the exercise room, sat beside the fireplace and read the paper, and we generally enjoyed our stay as a family. The hotel is perfectly located for shopping and restaurants, and an easy commute to MSU. Thanks Country Inn, we'll be back again.

Nice hotel, but uncomfortable beds

Overall the hotel was very nice. Breakfast was very good. It was reasonably quiet, even when it was busy, and the staff were very helpful. However, the hotel was deficient in two ways that impacted my stay and my sleep. First, the beds were hard. As someone who sleeps on my side, this was very frustrating. And two, the room ventilation units are not the kind that leave the fan running all the time. Instead they cycle on and off. I very much prefer the constant white noise to something that cycles on and off. Thus, I did not sleep well while I was there and I will probably not be returning.

Family stay.

Pool was to cold, 80 is not warm. Hot tub needs updating. Pillow need to be replaced. Otherwise very quiet

Would not recommend

Pros: clean, but i guess it is easy to keep clean when you only have about 10-15 rooms rented.
Cons: maintenance on the parking lot, more informed desk clerks.
Location: fairly close to mall and shopping and restaurants. Not convenient when leaving hotel as it comes out on a one way that heads out of town.
started at check in. it was quick and fast, but no explanation on any of the hotel amenities (i.e. breakfast, pool, etc. . . ). had to ask where the room was and what door was closest for entry. during stay, there was icy rain/snow fall and there was very little parking lot maintenance. The only area that looked to have been salted and maintained (loosely stating maintained) was right by the front door. We were on the end of the hotel, so we parked as close to the end door that we could get. No parking lot maintenance there at all. When i went out to my vehicle at about 9 pm. on the second evening, i fell on glare ice (no salt, not protection) and went down so fast that i didn't even know i was falling till i hit my head on the curb by the truck. I tried to report this to staff, but there was no one at the front desk. I finally got to my truck and was able to take my grandkids to the mall for black friday shopping. Hmmm. . . parking lot at mall was maintained and iced. At midnight i had dropped the girls off with their dad and i returned to the hotel. I parked by the front door since this was the safest area (and not very safe any means and standards of the word). I was going to report the incident to the front desk clerk. No one there again. This would have been about 12:15/12:30 am. It wasn't till we went to check out on Friday morning, that i was able to find a desk clerk to report the incident. Would not recommend to anyone.
