The Island Guesthouse felt like our home. The café area was always open and the tea was yummy. Parking was easy and secure. We really liked the fire pit in the back area.

The property is very quaint. I love the uniqueness. It's okd but upgraded and convenient to historical area and restaurants.

My wife and I visited here in September 2022 to celebrate our anniversary on Roanoke Island. The staff at Island Guest house were all super friendly. At one point, I could not find a parking spot to accommodate my larger truck and a staff member went and moved her vehicle to give me more space. The room was very clean and the bathroom updated. We will probably make this our go to place every year now.

Bad Experience
We were treated harshly by the owner. The ratings for the motel were 10's but were more like a 6. I cannot take mold or any kinds of smells. When we entered the room it I could smell the mildew. He became irate at us because we would not take the room. He was loud and yelled we would not get our money back. We knew that when we booked the room. But we booked the room because of its ratings were excellent and 10's. I wrote I could not take smells, etc. He wrote back a note about cleaning with beach and do not be irate with his checks if you are not satisfied with the room. We left and went to another hotel.com motel.
