Anniversary Trip

Posted Sep 11, 2017
Pros: Location and staff
The Hotel staff was very accommodating and friendly during our entire stay. They helped us book several excursions and recommended an excellent dinner option at the Quepos Marina. We had dinner at the hotel on our night of arrival and the staff was very attentive. The meal was excellent and there was so much food we unfortunately had no room for desert. Staff informed us upon arrival that the pool was out of commission for repairs but offered several options if we desired. We stayed so busy during the stay with activities that the pool issue was not a problem. The rooftop deck has a spectacular view on both sides of the peninsula the hotel is located. I would start every morning there upon waking enjoying the wildlife and sounds of the jungle. Such a fabulous way to start the day!. We had a room that had the great view looking out towards Manual Antonio Park and were constantly greeted by the iguanas sunning themselves on the grassy area. Service is a number 1 priority with management and it definitely happened during our stay! Thank you for making our stay so special.

Paradise

Posted Aug 9, 2017
We found paradise six hours from home. From the moment we arrived at La Mansion Inn to the moment we left, we were treated like family. Jorge and Warner could not have been more accommodating. Their kindness made us feel very at home. Warner made many suggestions for excursions, they were all fantastic! We loved our time in Costa Rica, the country, the people, the wildlife are all amazing! Amazing views

Posted Jun 3, 2017 on Orbitz
Pros: The views and the fact that you can use the pool 24/7
Location: Its up in the hills down a winding road so it would be a long walk from the main street where all the restaurants are at.
We visited at the end of May and the hotel was very quiet as it wasn't during busy season. The pool is a great size for cooling off and there is a great terrace to lay out for sunbathing and enjoying the great views. The room was clean and spacious and in the bathroom had a great spacious shower. We also had a complimentary breakfast each morning with great options to choose from. The breakfast food was great!!!. Would definitely recommend this hotel for couples. The hotel itself is a little dated, but the staff and great views make up for that. The hotel is in the hills so it has a steep driveway, so getting the car out of the parking lot can be a little stressful, but staff are always willing to help. The pool bar drinks are expensive ($8), just like every other tourist spot in Costa Rica and are just "ok".

Dear Lisa Thank you very much for your review! We love sharing this small piece of paradise with all our guest! The parking as you mention is the way it is because we are on the top of the hills and basically sitting on a rock but thats the price we pay for the beautiful views we offer to our guest. I am glad that you mentioned that our staff is always willing to help. Your comments are more than welcome and. Every suggestion we receive is an opportunity to continue finding the best guest satisfaction. Looking forward to welcome you as many times as you want to return! Pura vida! The hotel, itself, is a little quirky, but the staff is friendly and it is in a great central location to restaurants, Manuel Antonio park and Quepos.

A place to relax with amazing views

Great hotel with amazing views and excellent staff and service. Quite a walk up a steep hill to get to the restaurants and bars is the only thing I can fault this place on.

Great views, lacked some amenities, pricey

Posted Mar 26, 2017
Pros: Views, location, staff, food
Cons: Rooms need a small fridge and they should provide a couple bottles of water each day.
Location: Great location, close to beach, National Park, restaurants, bars, stores. Lots of tours to go on.
We stayed 5 nights an enjoyed our stay. The ocean view from our room was wonderful and the rooftop terrace was nice with great views. The pool was nice but small. The food was very good, but a bit pricey. We were surprised to find out the pool was open 24 hours but the swim up bar closed at 7:00pm. The bar inside also closed by 10:00pm, so no drinking late into the night. The cool Cave Bar was no longer staffed with a bartender so we did not get to enjoy that, which would have been cool. Our room was good in size as well as the bathroom with a nice large shower. It would have been nice to have a small fridge for water etc. Also I feel the hotel should have given us water in the room but we had to purchase bottles of water ($2 for small & $4 for large). Overall a nice hotel with friendly staff, but I feel it lacks a few amenities, and decor that a 5 star rated hotel should have.

Amazing views and great staff

Posted Mar 19, 2017
We loved La Mansion. Staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and most speak good English. The views in both directions from the rooftop pool lounge are fantastic. We had the least expensive room and the view was fantastic, though we did not have a private patio. There is no direct sunset view from the property, but you can easily go to a neighboring establishment for that. There is a sense of openness and cooperation among the hotels and restaurants, not rivalry for your business. There is a small cove beach just down the hill, an easy walk, where snorkeling and kayaking are available. Walking back up is not easy in the heat. The only downside is not about this hotel in particular but the whole area; it is very hot all the time, and very hilly with small windy roads, so if you like to walk distances this is not the place. You can very easily get a cab on short notice, and it costs eight dollars to go anywhere in the area.
