Its well stocked with beach stuff and day trip supplies as well as games, books and movies. It's perfectly situated between great beaches on the kona side and the volcano park on the hilo side."

"This is the perfect place for a quiet family getaway. House has everything you could ask for with comfortable beds and pillows. Full kitchen with spices on hand. Game room and dvds on first floor. Incredible views from balcony and snorkeling sets, kayaks, boogie boards etc. Private, primitive snorkeling site that can be reached scrambling over lava rocks (stairs washed out)- Not for small kiddos or anyone needing assistance, but most people would have no problem, especially since it’s so private & lots of fish! Canoe launch and beach just down the road for others. There is with grocery store about 30 mins away and house is down a twisting hill, but remote location is ideal to get away from tourist locations and an incredible night time star viewing! Will be going back. Host is terrific and will answer any questions you may have. Highly recommend!!"

"We lived this property! The view cannot be beat! You can hear the waves crashing against the sea walls and it’s just magical! There is so much to explore just off site! Our kids had a blast exploring the lava sea cliffs and playing in the tide pools. The neighborhood is quiet, peaceful and safe. We enjoyed having our breakfasts and dinners out in the balcony and the kids loved the soak pool. I would absolutely stay here again!"

"We immediately felt welcomed by Wendy and David. It was a delight to meet and greet briefly. The house and the gorgeous surroundings offer true relaxation. Our only regret is that we only had one night here. We are already discussing when we can come back."

"Wow! The only critique of this place is that the pictures do not do it justice. Seeing the beautiful green roof as we came down the mountain was exciting. While the home is beautiful, the first moment that we walked out the back door, we were in awe of the ocean beating against the cliffs. We had a high surf warning, and enjoyed a front seat to the waves splashing against the volcanic rock on the patio. It was a wonderful welcome, and instantly put us in awe of the beauty of the area. This home is wonderfully located between Volcanoes National park and Kona. However, getting to Hilo was not an inconvenience. Being in the southern area of the island, it was easy to make both sides of the island very attainable. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend visiting Volcano National Park, Richardson’s Ocean Park and Rainbow Falls in Hilo, the Green Sand Beach, Black Sand Beach, and spending a day enjoying Kona as well. We rented a boat from Kona boat rental, and enjoyed snorkeling at Captain Cook and taking in the ocean. Couldn’t have been a more enjoyable experience and true getaway!! "Very well equipped house. Given the house is a bit out of the way from restaurants, we were so happy that the house was well outfitted for cooking.The beach towels and equipment were great to borrow as well! Make sure you rent a vehicle that can handle inclines - a 4x4 would be best! We would love to stay at this property again!"
