Charming place close to the beachPosted Sep 16, 2015
This motel was quaint and charming, and provided us a place to stay that was clean and totally adequate for our needs. We are not fancy people, but definitely want a comfortable bed, clean bathroom, and some room to spread a bit. We got all of those here at Spindrift. We appreciated the kitchen accommodations and the dining table which allowed us to have breakfast in and refrigerate our cooler items. We also appreciated the couch and living area, and the nice selection of DVDs in the office. The bathroom was very small, but my husband and I were fine with that. The bathroom also opened into a small courtyard protected from the wind, which would be nice for much of the year on the windy Oregon Coast. We visited in August, high season on the coast, and you definitely need to make reservations far in advance for that season. We were totally charmed with this place, and will definitely return! Also, for coffee lovers: we had the best Americano I've had in years at Manzanita News and Espresso. Very smooth and full of flavor :)

Motel is two blocks from the beach.Posted Sep 14, 2015
Pros: I appreciate the improvements thus far.
Cons: The office is only open from 9am - 1pm, 2pm - 5pm. I noticed the office manager was late in the mornings 15 - 20 minutes.
This motel has been under new Management for the last two years and they have made some updated improvements; new roof, exterior paint and we noticed a terribly overdue new shower in our usually room. It would be nice if the carpets would be replaced and the house keeping was more consistent. I had to go to the front desk requesting tea, sugars and coffee mate which were not replenished in our room. The only thing I really don't like about this place is that they charge you $10 for each pet each night instead a flat rate per night; having two pets, this gets pricey and really is one pet any different then two pets in the room.

Cons: Update it, cleanliness.
Location: Beach and food.
Hotel was in great location. The guy at reception was super friendly Our room was pretty noisy, bed was uncomfortable enough that we woke up with sore backs. The room was a bit chintzy and one of those situations where it wasn't "dirty" but certainly not altogether "clean." The carpet was ickyish and old, as was the bathroom floor. Our bathroom sink was missing top and other guests' hair was tangled and exposed. It's not an un-nice hotel, it's actually kinda cute. And we weren't totally uncomfortable. I'm not sure of other hotels in town, but I wouldn't be surprised if you could do better.

Great little placePosted Dec 22, 2014
Only blocks from the ocean. Big, clean rooms for the price. Very friendly owner with great recommendations for the area. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for something outside of just a "normal" hotel.
