Nice room with two very comfortable double beds which can be hard to find in Paris. Great linens and pillows on the beds and the bathroom was roomy with a spacious tub and nice towels. Furniture was simple but clean and functional. Only downside was the bar fridge which did not allow us to put anything in it. Great maid service. We used room service one night and the food was good. All other meals were in nearby cafes, etc. Nearby Monoprix was great for ready-to-go meals and other items. Concierge was helpful. Travelled with two younger and one other older adult. Used the Metro and bike rentals to travel throughout Paris. Not as centrally located as where I've stayed before but the larger room and comfy beds made the stay so much nicer and worth using the Metro more often than I've done in the past. The immediate area is pretty urban - the plaza is a gathering place for young people after school and political and social discourse. We enjoyed this.

A beguiling mix of art and architecture, the revitalised Beaubourg and Marais districts are home to Paris’ Jewish community and a thriving gay scene. Attractions include the Pompidou Centre, Place des Vosges (Paris’ oldest square), the Picasso museum, Notre-Dame cathedral and bijou Ile-St-Louis. Stalls selling birds, flowers and books line the banks of the Seine. Village St-Paul is good for antique-hunting. The area is best explored on foot.
