FACILITY WITH POTENTIAL

Pros: convenient to things around Marathon Key
Cons: certainly has more potential as do many of the older businesses in The Keys.
Location: convenient, near wide selection of food establishments, fishing charters, wildlife rehab facility, shopping, etc.
Check in smooth. Help courteous. When asked for recommendations in area good advice given. However, we had to request wash cloths as none were initially provided, same for bar soap for the shower. A courtesy hair dryer appeared on the last day of a 3 night stay. Facility may be under new ownership with some improvements including near the marina. It was convenient to things of interest to us. Ceiling near entry to small balcony had cracked spot. Continental breakfast not bad not great, sufficed.

New management....better conditions

I stayed at the property a few years back and rooms was in the worst condition. Now the property has new management, they renovated all the rooms and hired new staff. I rate the hotel an A+ condition. Also the property sits on a marina

Needs work the bars were closed most of the time we went there. The Tiki bar was closed every time we went there. On Friday night the Tiki bar closed at 8:52 pm, I'm on vacation want to get a drink and sit by the water the location is great but the service amenities need work. The pool bar is only open on the weekends and they don't have too many drinks.

Both the Sand Bar & Tiki Pool Bar have the same drinks available. Due to Guest frequency during the week, the Tiki Bar may not be open but both are open on weekends. We will be adding a food element to both locations shortly as well!

Love this place

Had a great time here, marina was good for our boat, we have a 21.7 foot boat and was able to use the ramp here with no problems.

Great Spot!

We live in Key West and spend some time in Marathon and always stay at Banana Bay--its a hidden gem, beautiful rooms and great location.

Not what l expected!

Bed was bad, pool was dirty and algae was growing in it. Staff was very mice. Breakfast wasn't much at all. Hidden hotel fees too.

I hope you were able to mention any issue with our Front desk so we may fix it for you. Normally we have rave reviews about our Bedding & Guests often ask where they can buy the same bed. We are doing some work in and around our Pool and our Cleaning company is here daily to clean the Pool. As with most hotels in the Keys, our Resort fees have a lot of amenities to them including a large Continental Breakfast for the Family. None of this is "hidden" and it is clearly noted on Expedia & it's Affiliates and also on your confirmation letter. We don't like surprises and want our Guests to be knowledgeable & know what to expect when they stay with us! We hope to see you back to experience all that is new at Banana Bay Resort!

not a functional marina

The housekeeper kept our room very clean. We booked at banana bay to utilize the marina when bringing out boat. The boat ramp was in such terrible condition and obviously hadn't been cleaned in a long time. When pulling our small boat out with a 4 wheel drive vehicle, the algae was so slick we had to manually go hand carry gravel from the driveway to have traction. No dockmaster present for the 4 days we were there to address this. Spoke to a gentleman in a banana bay shirt and he didn't seem interested at all.

We do have a full time Dockmaster that works Monday thru Friday 7:30 - 5pm & assists with everything Marina related, even pump outs for boats. Occasionally we have north winds that can bring seaweed into the marina, otherwise our boat ramp is clean & very easy to use. We are happy you enjoy the rest of your stay with us!

You get what you pay for

Quiet from road noise ,staff was good . although not what we were expecting overall from the pictures ...The area around the pool was dirty, hot tub also needed a good cleaning around the top. Breakfast area was small and not in the same building as rooms and didn't have much to eat. (Cereal, juice,pastries) The rooms were Clean and smelled good

We are doing some work in and around the property particularly the Pool area as it is so lush with Gardens that require a lot of debris cleaning. We are also adding more to our Continental Breakfast as we currently have Assorted Breads, Croissants, Jellies & Peanut Butter, Pastries, Assorted Fresh Fruits, Assorted Cereals, Milk, Colombian Coffee & Decaf, Teas, Orange Juice & Apple Juice. For a Continental Breakfast, it's a great way to start your day with the Family! We hope to see you back for a 5 rating visit next time!

Buyer Beware

Dirty room, after I got out of the shower my feet were black & filthy. Uncomfortable bed. No water due to some broken pipe. So you couldn't shower or use the bathroom. But still charged us a resort fee & no,compensation. Will never come back.

We have made note of your comments and we normally have great reviews of our rooms, cleanliness and particularly our beds. We hope you spoke with our Front desk to see what we could do to remedy any of the issues that were encountered. We did have a water pipe burst the other week and we were able to fix this within 90 minutes, so we apologize if this inconvenienced you but it was not something that we could control but only fix as fast as possible.
