Worst experience of our life
I like to be a positive person, after reading mixed reviews on this place we booked it thinking it would be different and fun. It was different alright, as we pull up to the boat to check in (1 hour late mind you) and after receiving all the messages on what to do, Wi-Fi code, door code etc. we are looking at the boat in the day time (deceiving vrbo Pictures, taken at night so you can't see what the boat looks like in the light, classic) The door to the boat was wide open, someone was inside tearing up all of the flooring (The handyman informs us that our booking has been canceled we never received txt, email, or call from the host either) we call the host and it goes straight to voicemail. Keep in mind were staying here for a wedding and I am the best man now with no place for me and my girlfriend to stay, she was in tears. Also, the marina where this boat is located at is very dark at nighttime. The only light in the whole entire marina was the blue lights on this boat. The street where this marina is located don't even have any streetlights. It did not feel safe to even leave our valuables there. and I'm sure something bad would have happened, like tripping and falling in the dark getting on and off the boat at night. Overall, it was a terrible experience and I wish the host would have canceled 24-48 hours ahead of time so I could find another place to stay since everything was booked up that week and we planned this 2 months ahead of time.

Unpleasant experience
VRBO pictures do not accurately show the condition of the boat. Peeling varnish, gaps in flooring, it was cooler and couldn't get the heating unit to work. Spoke to a person who rented a houseboat 2 slips away which was newer, larger and much better condition for almost $200/day less. Other houseboats are available at the same marina for much less. Have recent pictures if anyone would like to see.

Fun stay by the water
We really enjoyed our stay despite the somewhat close quarters. The boat is nicely kept up and it’s a beautiful location. We saw a manatee and watched the fish off the back. The rooms are teeny but that’s to be expected and we managed to fit five adults without a problem. The host was very nice and even left a welcome bottle of wine.

cozy boat stay
Host was easy to communicate with. The door lock was broken, but the surroundings felt safe and peaceful. Parking stall was right in front of the boat, so we just locked our belongings in our car. There were also some board games that were provided in the boat, so we were able to play with the kids. Host left us a bottle of wine, which was a nice gesture too help us parents unwind a little bit. Overall, it was a great experience for the family.

5 out of 5 for the experience of staying on a boat. Everyone should do it at least once. I prefer camping and although this was not roughing it as there are some modern conveniences you have to sacrifice to stay here (Not much) The coffee maker does have a grounds adaptor so I got my two cups in every day from the single cup maker. The air conditioning and water pressure is great. This also in a great location, they lend you two bikes in a perfect location, you can cruise to Curry Hammock across the street and head southwest to see most of what marathon has to offer on the gulf side (or just head south to Sombrero Beach) Off the back of the boat you can watch tarpon roll, snook chasing prey, sheepshead grazing and water the manatees. The only negative experiences I had was the main door doesn't open or close well, the shower head is installed wrong (you have to hold it) and the refrigerator was teetering on a homemade plank and became unplugged one night (Food spoiled). Life is what you make it!

Needs total refurbishing
Although the boat was clean, everything needed repairing. We had to prop up the refrigerator because when opened, all the items rolled off the shelves and onto the floor. The shower leaked and water temperature could not be regulated. There was little to no storage place in the bedrooms to put belongings. The only closet was in the room with the bunkbeds. The size of the boat was not adequate for three adults. The door on the bunkbed room would not close so there was very little privacy. The entire interior needed refurbishing by a professional because whoever did it before had no idea what they were doing. A child could have done a better job. We made the most of the three days we were there, but I'm afraid I would not recommend this boat to anyone else until some vast improvements were made. I have stayed on boats before, and this one ranks about the worst.

Bait and Switch
Before booking my stay on the Che Che boat I read all the reviews (most were negative). I reached out to the owner to see if he rectified the problems specifically the A/C problem and the broken key in the lock preventing renters from securing their belongings. He assured me that it had and the boat would be nice and cool 2 new units had been purchased. He said the lock had not been fixed but there is security and cameras. I made a decision based on him telling me the A/C was fixed. On the way down I was earlier than expected and asked for an earlier check in he said he would let me know when cleaning crew was finished. He never responded so I arrived at 4 to an absolutely sweltering hot boat!!!! I immediately messaged him to which he responded…with those two AC units it will cool off very shortly aside from the AC in the rooms. He never mentioned in the original message that the bedrooms don’t get cool. He said the boat is completely cool in the original message and bedrooms are part of the boat! I would have never booked it if he said bedrooms will not be cool. I have been at south Florida resident my whole life and I understand how hot it gets here in the summer and I also own two boats. We ended up having to sleep on the bow of the boat bc of how hot it was inside!!!! He totally bait and switched the problems with this boat. DO NOT RENT THIS BOAT!!!!!!!!!!!

Do Not Stay Here
We came to stay on the boat for 2 nights and nothing worked right. The water would not fully turn on instead it trickled out which meant no showers or running water during our stay. They do not have air-conditioning downstairs. The two window units upstairs cannot reach the cabin below. The handles on all the cabinets were falling off because there was no backings, The mini fridge is resting on an uneven wood pallet; As I tried to open the door, it started to fall on me. This presents a hazard for young children and could become legal issue if a child was injured. The sliding glass door would not lock so anyone could potentially come in and out during our stay which made us feel unsafe. Electrical wires were exposed in the cabin which was another hazard. The presentation was initially nice until we discovered all these issues. Instead of staying on the boat, we contacted VRBO and stayed at a Hotel instead. The owner was in denial about most of the issues, came up with issues about all the things that were not fixed....We explained the issues to VRBO and was told our case would be escalated.. we took pictures and video. Disappointed because the sales rep at VRBO told us that these were minor issues.. Still waiting to hear back.....don't waste your time or money. There are better places to stay.

All Aboard!
This was our first overnight stay on a boat and we really enjoyed it! It was a really unique experience. The area is quite private and very quiet. We also had very good communication with the owner through the entire process.
