Last minute trip to the Keys

Posted Jan 15, 2018
Pros: It was quiet and the property as well as the condo was immaculate. the staff was helpful and friendly.
Cons: Lower resort fees. Water sports available but at an extra fee. Not sure why there was an extra fee.
Location: Close to restaurants, water activities, and beaches. Key West was only an hour away.
Decided the day before we left to get away for a few days from the extreme cold. We had never been to the Keys before and after the storm we were not sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised with the way Marathon has bounced back. While there was still some debris along the curbs, the progress with the clean up is amazing.Tranquility Bay is immaculate. The grounds are well manicured and the structures are intact, clean, and welcoming. The staff was very helpful with recommendations for restaurants and beaches. Our condo unit was more than we expected and felt like home. We drove to Key West and witnessed the devestation in areas along the way. There were areas that were harder hit and clean up will take more time. Overall, it was a great vacation. Only wish we could have stayed longer.

Very nice, family oriented stay on the beach

Posted Jan 12, 2018
Location: Turtle Hospital. Crane Point: do the guided golf cart tour first, then go back and walk the beautiful trails.
Very nice vacation resort in the Florida Keys for a relaxing family getaway. We had a three bedroom cottage which was large and beautiful, fully furnished kitchen and comfortable bedrooms. Nice living area and beautiful ocean view balcony and porch. This is a great place for families with young children, and our family with young adult children loved it too. Close enough to Key West for a daytrip. Good restaurants and takeout nearby, and good grocery store in Marathon if you want to cook in. Very nice comfortable restaurant onsite, with nice menu, but limited if your stay is a week-long stay. You wouldn't want to eat onsite every night.

Excellent peaceful and beautiful water front hotel

Posted Jan 11, 2018
We only stayed two nights, but from what we experienced we wished we stayed longer! The check in staff and housekeepers were very friendly and efficient. Checkin and out was a breeze and one of the hotel staff even offered to help us with loading something heavy onto our car! Also, we were upgraded free of charge to a more spacious room. The property is beautiful will a quant garden section and others with spacious water view balconies. The beaches are beautiful but keep I mind the beach there is more for the view of the water and laying out than the swimming/wading experience. The room was veey clean and the area as very quiet. Our only critique would be the electric door locks or key cards seemed faulty as it took a couple minutes some times to get the locks to let us in. I observed this happening to some other guests during our stay so it looks like the hotel may need to check the system out. Other than that,m, we were very pleased and wish we could have stayed longer! The place stood out as a couple steps above we others we observed along the way in Marathon. Definitely recommend!

Beautiful hotel on the bay!

Posted Dec 28, 2017
Pros: The clean sandy beach and clear water
Cons: The water pressure. Only one shower at a time in our unit.
Location: Many restaurants with in walking distance or a short 5 minute ride. Close to 7 mile bridge for a day drive
After a trip to Christmas Bahamas trip was cancelled due to a scrooge! we decided to turn to the Keys for relaxation! We choose this resort based on the pictures and amenities. It was just what we needed and lived up to the pictures and reviews. Staff was friendly and after the hurricane Irma we were impressed with the clean up efforts, the resort was from the naked eye untouched, however I believe the staff went above and beyond to bring it back. We will definitely be returning to Tranquility Bay!

Loved it and would definitely go back.

Posted Dec 21, 2017
Location: Spent a day in Key West. Had debated staying there, but glad we didn't. All I need there is one day and it's enough to see the sites.
Despite the destruction Irma caused down there, they have worked their butts off and have the resort in excellent condition. I wouldn't have even known there was a hurricane if I looked at the grounds. I loved the feel of this place vs. some high rise hotel. There are piles of debris along the road sides yet. At times I felt guilty for being there and not helping, but truth is they need our tourist money!

Bad stay but acknowledged by staff after "talk"

Posted Dec 21, 2017
Pros: Location
Cons: See above "experience". Better scheduling of contractor work and when work is necessary do not book units nearby.
We booked the waterview unit with outside balconies on both sides to ensure sun at all times of the day...i.e. morning sun to sit outside and have our coffee. To our extreme displeasure the insulating contractor was hired to do work in several units next to & near our unit. Early each morning the contractor would back his large truck down our sidewalk blocking it and start-up some large noisy piece of equipment...RUINED our morning experience!! Just wrong for almost $300/night. After three noisy mornings we had enough and went to front desk to speak to management. Management tried at first to give unacceptable excuses but they were rejected. After several minutes of discussion management finally stopped making excuses and took responsibility. Management then gave us a hotel credit to offset our loss. We appreciate the (belated) recognition of the unacceptable lodging conditions and hope management will have learned how to improve going forward,

Relaxing Stay In November

Posted Dec 11, 2017
My spouse and I recently stayed 3 nights at this property. Overall, the photos reflect well the actual property, which is very clean and well kept. Given the time of year, the ocean is not swimmable and the winds were blowing, but the pool areas are well sheltered and enjoyable. The dining room (outside or inside) was excellent. The unit we stayed in was spacious, clean and enjoyable, with a great view of the ocean. Of note, there is nothing of appeal immediately outside of the property, so you either enjoy the property, or drive somewhere else to find interest. Also of note is that the property (and obviously the area itself) is well populated with iguanas, which are harmless, but surprisingly large for those of us who have not encountered these creatures often in our travels.

Love the location and the accommodations. Furniture is uncomfortable. Room was cleaned once during our 5 day visit. In view of hurricane Irma leaving its mark, they have handled the cleanup very well.
