Super relaxingPosted Aug 5, 2017
If you're looking for a luxury, chilled break in Marbella this is your hotel. Close to all the attractions Marbella has to offer this is the perfect tranquil retreat. Restaurant El Corzo highly recommended.

Expensive Hotel close to two Golf CoursesPosted Jul 18, 2017
Los Monteros is a comfortable well presented hotel offering good facilities. The Beach Club is excellent but very expensive and closes early at 7pm. Be better if the beachside restaurant was open all evening for those who want to dine right next to the sea. Most staff were excellent and friendly however one or two were blunt and rude and had a language barrier which detracted from the overall impression. Overall a pleasant hotel with good cuisine but the room (we had a duplex junior suite) was too small with limited views and a very small balcony and bathroom and it is a very expensive hotel indeed - be warned! It's also slightly too far away from Marbella and Puerto Banus so ideally you would need a hire car or be prepared for a lot of taxi expense. The nearby golf clubs were convenient however they both suffer from thieves preying on golfers who are vulnerable to attack which also was not ideal. The hotel also had too many children running about for our liking. The breakfast was quite probably the highlight of the day - truly excellent.

PerfectionPosted Jun 27, 2017
A beautiful, sparklingly clean hotel. The smell of sweet flowers fills the corridors and every surface shines. Staff are friendly and acomodating and do everything with a smile. When we tried to go up and collect our drinks one afternoon, we were reminded by the bar staff that we're meant to be relaxing on holiday and to let them do everything! Heaven. The hotel itself is a mere ten minutes from the tackiness that is Marbella, and is refined in comparison, though old town marbella is worth a look! A short golf buggy ride away you'll find the beach club, La Cabane. There aren't words to describe how luxury it is. Often photos on websites make these things look better than they are, but having snapped a shot similar to the one online, I can confirm that it does look that good in real life! €40 for basic entry and beds, that's really all you need and it's worth it! The food at the hotel was also extremely good, the breakfast buffet was lovely, with warm breads and pastries, freshly cooked eggs or omelets, lots of beautifully fresh fruit and a selection of meats and cheese. We tried the al la carte restaurant on our second night having experienced a ridiculously overpriced horrendously served meal at the popular harbour of Puerto Banus the night before, and what a far cry from that it was! Service was brilliant, the food was delicious and the staff were even helpful and mindful of a lactose intolerance! All in all I can't recommend this hotel enough, I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Disappointing Easter WeekendPosted Apr 18, 2017 on Hotels
We are familiar with the area and have visited Marbella many times over the past 35 years.Los Monteros was slightly disappointing. We stayed in a suite which sadly meant negotiating 2 flights of steps within the suite The lounge area was pleasant if you like a view over the air contioning units but the bedroom on the upper floor was tiny and cramped. The bathroom was small with a combined shower. The reception area was OK but the bar staff looked either under pressure or were not accommodating. The pool area is very attractive and although the hotel in in a great positio I would not choose to stay the again. They offer a kids club, which my 6 year old granddaughter loved but there was only one supervisor so some of the children wandered off. Obviously with the club and children's swimming pool you might think the hotel would be children friendly but they failed to offer a kids menu in any of their Resturant's. The staff although not unpleasant need to make more effort. I expected more and was disappointed.

Lovely hotel, very clean nice location helpful staPosted Oct 22, 2016
Pros: Our room was upgraded and preferred that one from the standard one we were going to have originally as didn't like the idea of stairs going to use the facilities and it had a balcony and the choice of bath or shower and the fact you could use the handheld shower instead of the overhead one very impressed with the bathroom in general
Cons: Breakfast for hot things could have been warmer, tea was poor, nicely laid out for the cold items, bread was nice ,juices were nice, helpful staff
Location: Not familiar with that area as we were only there for an overnight stay. We know other areas better so can't comment

DilemmaPosted Aug 28, 2016
Hotel is low level not like most in Marbella. A bit out of the way about €10-15 to get into Centre which can put you off bothering every night! However nice to come back to the peace & quite. You might want to pick a hotel on the very outskirts of Marbella. Hotel on half board is more value but you get given a set menu different from main menu which makes you feel not as welcoming as other guests. However waiters don't make you feel like this just the set up. Overall depends what your looking for pool area relaxing but evening wanted to be closer to town. Preferred our visit to Malaga suggest just visiting Marbella by coach!

quality hotel close to elviria / beachPosted Jun 30, 2016
Pros: Quality of rooms , breakfast - location .
Cons: Restaurant menu - a little more variety / vegetarian etc . Bar atmosphere / entertainment ? Cabana - open evenings .
Location: Location good .beach / restaurants close . Marbella / Puerto Banus nearby shopping & restaurants . 2 golf courses opposite / upmarket ones nearby .
5th time we have stayed at los monteros - good rooms with 3 or 4 grades / locations . Breakfast excellent includes champagne - occasional queues at egg station ! Restaurant and bar traditional menu and staff - sometimes quiet . Spa good - beach restaurant also but only open in evening ( ? ) Attractive garden with plenty of sun beds / not too many around excellent pool . Near to Elviria - facilities and good restaurants and not to far to Marbella and Puerto Banus . Golf courses nearby and golf desk at hotel to assist . Yellow cars - car hire available at hotel - good service .
