What a find!!!Posted Sep 22, 2015
Pros: I liked everything about the hotel and we found a bonus in that we were walking distance to great restaurants and shopping. A trifecta of pleasure!
Location: The location offered great shops and dining within walking distance. We also took side trips to Muir Woods and Sausalito.
Mill Valley Inn surpassed my expectations on every level. The location, setting, staff, room, and complimentary food was terrific. I only wish we could have stayed longer. We will DEFINITELY be back! While my I stayed here on holiday with friends, I am now considering this as potential location for a business retreat.

Choose an upper floor facing away from streetPosted Aug 25, 2015
Pros: Rooms are excellent and fresh and clean and well-appointed. Breakfasts both tasty and healthy. Very nice staff.
Cons: Replace the 1/2 wall with sound insulation to shield rooms 1-4 from the direct channeling of noise from parking floor they overlook just below.
Location: Great area. Excellent Italian restaurant just around the corner. Easy access to 101 and into SF. Quiet and classy area.
We loved this place. Really quiet with a view of some nearby redwood trees. We checked in and were initially given room 2, just above the parking area. Rooms 1 through 4 are on basically a bridge just 40 or 50 feet from a acoustically life, echo chamber, where you can hear every door closing and conversation ("back up a bit more, Fred, more, more, THAT'S good"). But by asking to change to a quieter room, we were fortunate to be reassigned on the top (3rd) floor, room 16, which was fabulous. The breakfast was available at 7 AM, and quite nice with smoked salmon, many types of fruit, and hot oatmeal, and many other treats usually not offered.

Mill ValleyPosted Aug 7, 2015 on Hotels
Great small inn for a stay in Mill Valley. Pleasant rooms, lots of charm and a great included breakfast. The hotel is walking distance to a great selection of restaurants and very convenient for day trips in the area.

Liked all but soapPosted Jul 19, 2015 on Hotels
Not our first stay, but always nice. Thank you. The soap, shampoo, conditioner dispensers don't work well and I don't like the smell of that product.

Excellent!!Posted Jul 14, 2015 on Hotels
Excellent hotel and service in a wonderful location close to main town's amenities. Personnel very friendly, always available to provide information about the area and they go out of their way to make your stay be a pleasant one. Best hotel breakfast ever!! All food and fruit served is fresh and healthy. Everyday 5:30 PM cheese and wine is a real plus

Disappointing hotel but some plus pointsPosted Jul 13, 2015 on Hotels
Somehow the hotel didn't live up to expectations based on the booking site. The room had no fireplace which we had expected, but didn't need. The bed had no headboard, all photos on the website having beds which had one. The balcony was a Juliet balcony, so only 12 inches or so wide. The strangest thing was that the property had a ground level car park with the rooms above that in an open plan fashion so that from the walkway outside the room the car park could be viewed. Although not a busy road there was noise from the street as the doors to the balcony provided little protection from this. Overall the hotel was disappointing and we wouldn't stay there again. On the plus side the staff were very good and the simple buffet breakfast was better then any other hotel breakfasts of this type on our trip.

Very nice hotel and perfect get away.Posted Jul 13, 2015
Pros: Wonderful rooms, old home atmosphere and very quiet.
Cons: Maybe a better breakfast but it was not bad just the same thing when we stayed there for several days.
It exceeded our expectations and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Downtown Mill Valley charm and comfortPosted Jul 8, 2015
Pros: The building, the location, free parking, good wifi, the view, the tall ceilings, the staff and the food.
Cons: Perfect the way it is.
Location: Location is perfect for walking, shopping, dining, or as a base for exploring the Bay Area.
We stayed the mill Valley Inn while taking a cruise from nearby Sausalito (celebrating my wife's birthday). The Inn is downtown and walking distance to all of Mill Valley. From it's central location there are plenty of places to eat, stores to shop in, and hiking trails that can take you anywhere from the top of Mt. Tam to the coastal beaches. The building itself is classic and located in a quiet and peaceful spot. The breakfast included was complete with Peet's Coffee, eggs, bagels and cream cheese, waffles, fresh fruit, and plenty of newspapers to read while you eat. The dining area is open 24 hours a day and has glass walls and doors to to show off the redwoods that dwarf the downtown area. The Mill Valley Inn was the perfect nest to come back to after a bay cruise!

A pleasant placePosted Jul 7, 2015 on Hotels
A great hotel with a good service. I was surprised with an afternoon wine and cheese tasting. The smell of hotel is very good. The toiletries are awesome. We had an minor inconvenience with the air conditioner of our room that was promptly solved.
