My partner and I spent two nights at this riad. We were just coming back from a desert tour and figured we'd be tired and wanting a little fancy in our life, so we splurged on this nicer property. Overall our stay was fine, but disappointing.
Be warned that the photos that are being used on this Hotels.com listing are not all of the property. The riad is actually called Riad Papillon. The owner has 4 properties and the many of the photos included on this listing are from the other properties. When we checked in, we realized we had been misled by the property photos. It was clean and we were tired, so we got checked in and went to our room, which was on the ground level. Since the only windows in the room open to the shared courtyard (i.e., if your window is open, everyone can see you), we asked if we could move to one of the rooms on the second floor. We were told we could not, even though we were the only guests there. The room was small, and with all the windows shut all the time, felt cagey. The room was clean and the shower had hot water, though, so we were fine. The second day, we went to take showers and realized there was no hot water. We let the staff know and they said that another room had just taken a shower, so just wait a bit and the hot water would be back. By 11am, there was still no hot water and they would not allow a late checkout. For the price, I do expect hot water.
Staff was nice, but there are nicer places in the city for the same price.
