Don't despair - behind the door lurks a sanctuary

Posted Mar 7, 2017
Pros: As above. No downside!
Cons: Speed of water flow but lazy warm shower did suffice. Obviously a bar would have been nice but in Marocco - alchohol not always easy to find - but it
Location: Souk enormous, street food (evenings) with v. Pushy salesmen!! Try bamboo gardens, coach & horses trip but don't accept offers of guides !
First impressions of the dingy alleyway deceive! Once inside is a wonderful sanctum of peace and tranquility and sun or shade. Staff are friendly and attentive. Design and accommodation traditional and ethnic but with all mod cons! Breakfast great. Sun terrace to laze (complete with hats/towels or try mini-pool/swim against flow? Very strategic- neat taxi rank and main souk. Big hotels around corner if you need wine! Tonic in next door store but buy Gin at airport! Got my phone screen protector mended on gadget row for £2 fitted! Rooms v. Well appointed with big shower room. Warm water too!

Quiet Oasis in Medina Marrakech

Posted Dec 11, 2016 on Hotels
Riad Dar Sheba is a beautiful, quiet oasis in the midst of the busy chaotic Medina in Marrakesh. Isaac was totally accommodating and lovely! Thank you!

Charming, Small, Well Located Boutique Riad

Posted Jun 28, 2016
Pros: Location, ambience, environment, plunge pool, staff
Cons: The heat in Marrakech was intense during our visit and the aircon was insufficient at night.
Location: It's in the Medina: virtually everything is within a 15 minute walk
Riad Dar Sheba is excellently located within the Medina. It has five bedrooms (one ground floor between reception and plunge pool), three on the middle floor and one at the top with the roof terraces); our room was perfectly nice although the airconditioning was not up to the heat (45 degrees by day and 37 at night). Breakfasts were basic and very good. We ate two evening meals which were local cuisine and extremely good - one taken in the courtyard beside the plunge pool and one under the stars on the roof terrace - both were a delight. Above all, the service and charm of the staff made it simply outstanding.

Dear Sir Youx, Many thanks for your very nice comment. We are absolutely delighted that you had such a good stay with us. Fatima is very touched, you have loved their meals. They are all homemade, and she is very proud of it. We hope to see you soon on our next stay, we will be happy to accuillir again and you discover every corner of the city. I'm sorry you got hot, it's true that the summer is hot in Marrakesh, despite the dry weather. Have a very nice day, soon, we all hope to.

Perfect relaxing riad in a great location

Posted Jun 26, 2016
My boyfriend and I stayed in this riad for a week in June during Ramadan. Collection from the airport went smoothly, our meal on the first evening was excellent and the room was exactly as described. The riad is peaceful and a welcome change to the busy tourist areas of Marrakech. It's located on a small side street off a main road so very close to shops and a few cafes, and only 10 minutes from the main square but very easy to navigate back to, you won't get lost like with some of the riads in the maze of streets surrounding the square. The stand out aspect of this riad for us was the top floor sun terrace. Beautifully arranged with plants and sun loungers it was like being in a secret garden, very private and not overlooked we spent quite a lot of time relaxing and working on our sun tans when we needed a break from city life. Couldn't fault this riad and Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Couldn't fault, would definitely recommend

This place is absolute gem. Really beautiful and bright with a lovely terrace which we did use a lot. The rooms are stunning, tastefully done and very clean. I would suggest to not book Casablanca room as this is on the ground floor next to the kitchen and the office, the walls are very thin there and it's quite noisy. The suits on the first floor are beyond beautiful and comfortable. It's very close to the souks and the main sights so no taxis required. The biggest selling point is the staff: Mohamed, Fatima and Abdulhakim were extremely helpful, nothing was too much. He even gave us a 100 dirhams on arrival as we wanted to get something from a corner shop as we didn't have local currency on us! Overall, I'm delighted with the stay and will definitely come back again! Thank you very much!

Super Nice Service!

Posted Nov 2, 2015 on Hotels
I just came back from Morocco a few days ago and it was probably my best trip in 2015! The staff at this Riad are so helpful, they will tell you everything you need to know about Morocco and even give you a mobile phone to contact them in case you get lost in the city! I booked a dinner there one night and the ladies at the kitchen were so nice and they taught me how to cook the traditional dishes. This place is definitely perfect if you want to have a very Moroccan experience!

Great little Riad with a very good price. All rooms face into an internal garden, as many riads do. Good location, a little hidden but close to the main souk and most of the sites. The people really made it though, thank you to everyone there that made us feel so welcome!

Couldn't be better! The CEO and Manager welcomed us as if we were queens. The welcoming including specialty tea, pastries, milk, water. Then Mohammed the Manager could not provide a better experience, helpful, knowledgeble, completely made us feel as we were home. Fatima prepares the BEST breakfast and so sweet! You should stay!
