No breakfast vouchers were given

We were supposed to receive breakfast vouchers and the night staff told us that they don't do that anymore. When we left, we found out that we were supposed to have gotten them.

Hotel was adequate, but barely.

The hotel is in the midst of a renovation. Room was hot at check-in, but cooled down nicely after adjustment of thermostat. There was no shower curtain and no provisions for hanging one. Furniture in the room had to be rearranged my me to make the room conveniently habitable. I have a big beef with the "Hotels.com" website. As a handicapped person, I need handicapped amenities: handrails in bath area, "chair-height" toilet with handrails,etc. But the website has no provisions for requesting these items. One must contact the hotel/motel directly to specify these items and messages requesting those items is often misplaced/ignored by the destination facility. Frequently, there is also an up-charge for providing these items.

good accommodation in an historic area

We were in the area to attend the Pony Express Festival which was held at the Hollenberg Pony Express Station in nearby Hanover. We stayed in a new building at this hotel and were happy with the accommodation. The only disappointment was that a guest must book directly with the hotel to get the breakfast voucher in the very good diner located on the same property. Since we booked through Hotels.com we didn't get the voucher.

Large Highway sign advertising free breakfast. No such a thing, available for a surcharge. Evidently, cleaning the room and running the vacuum cleaner also must come as a surcharge. Border line dumpy hotel, very unfriendly staff both check in and check out. Will not stay there again. I'll "surf" on to the hotel 3 blocks to the West, and pony up there if you get my drift ...
