Need better blackout curtains. Light came in from the sides. Everything else worked well. Good lighting. Liked that there were 3 seating options. Light flickered in bathroom, though. Luggage buggy very rickety.
I didn’t even stay there because the place was trash and y’all still took my money the guy at the desk I asked if the pool worked 5 times before I paid and then as soon as I paid he said it doesn’t work then I paid for two beds and he tried giving me a room with only one bed I just want my money back
The staff was amazing
The breakfast was the best out of all the hotels we have stayed
It was fresh the eggs was hot and not runny scrambled eggs bacon was burnt the sausage gravy was wonderful I could keep going on and on this is the one you would definitely want to stay at
The bathroom sink and hand towel had hairs in it and on it and turned me off completely. The refrigerator had a buzzing sound that awakened me throughout the night. The heater is not set correctly.
The staff was so friendly, the rooms were clean and fresh, and the location was perfect! Quiet and tucked away with absolutely no issues at all! Remodeling is nice! I’d definitely stay again and recommend!

Clean but a lot of construction noise
Room was nice clean and comfortable. But there was a ton of construction going on. Especially during the day. So the couple afternoons I went back to my room early (3-4pm) there was a lot of construction noise and new paint smell that lingered. So hopefully they’ll be done soon and it will be nicer
The desk clerk was friendly. The beds were comfortable. The rooms were clean. The room temperature was easy to change. The smoke alarm, though, blinks above the bed. We did not sleep well because of this. Also, the elevator did not work properly. The button to the second floor doesn’t easily register 2. Eventually we were able to get to the second floor. The pool was not working. We chose the hotel because pool was in the description.

First room had a weird, buzzing sound start at 3 in the morning. After an hour with no answer from the staff about the noise, demanded a new room. New room had no locking mechinism on door, no working tv, and a pile of dead bugd on the floor.
The property has been remodeled but the door to our room stuck and had to be pushed open and pulled closed. In the middle of the ceiling of our room was a fire alarm that had a strobe light. The strobe flashed about every 20-30 seconds and was very disruptive to sleep. If this isn’t corrected I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Great breakfast and friendly staff. Killed 2 spiders in room. Multiple false fire alarms. TV remote difficult to use and channels did match the guide.
First, the location was hard to find. Secondly, my room was ok however very limited choices in TV channels. A fire alarm went off at 10 p.m. Apparently it was due to the steam coming from the shower that I just took. The elevator was broken. When I pressed the 2nd floor button it took me to the 3rd floor 3 times. Then I walked down a flight of steps to my room. Very inconvenience. Breakfast had limited options. Also, the rooms aren't quiet from other rooms. When I explained all my issues with the front desk in the morning, I was offered a free bottle of water. I would have expected more compensation than that since I paid over $120 for basically 14 hrs.
The Best Western- Heartland in Mattoon, IL is Very safe, clean, convenient Hotel close to restaurants and stores. Customer Service was helpful, knowledgeable and friendly.They offered and delivered a great hot breakfast. At the current time the pool was closed for repairs, which we would have used. We would definitely stay again.
I booked this property because it had an indoor pool & an exercise room. Neither were available to use. Should have said that on the site & I would have booked elsewhere.
BW had only taken over the Hampton Inn property for 3 weeks when we stayed and the hotel was super clean and appeared to have all new everything. The breakfast was fabulous instead of just waffles, etc. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The only downside was that the pool wasn't quite ready for opening when we were there. We enjoyed our stay so much, we will definitely stay here again!!!

The TV barely worked - 20-30 seconds to change channels, not all channels on guide (If you can find it) are available. Endless black screens, I gave up.
The coffee maker didn't work.
The SHOWER wouldn't work, the handle just spun and a little water dribbled out the spout.
The ice machine didn't work.
Breakfast was supposed to be from 6 to 9. 6:15 no food out.
I gave up and left in a fury. Worst hotel ever.
Very clean room! Only issue was it took room four before we found a door that worked so we could enter the room. Smoke alarm went off during the night. Bed was very comfy and love their brand of toiletry.
The Hotel looked nice from the outside. Inside was the problem. The beds were not comfortable. There was not a bottom sheet on the bed. We had the option to change rooms. I decided to stay in the room. After traveling changing rooms was not in our plans. We got sheets from an employee and put it on the bed ourselves. I hadn't noticed the bathroom problems until the next morning.
The bathroom ceiling had water stains. Mold on the walls. There was a storm at night. When I went to the bathroom the next morning there was water on the floor.

Freshly painted, but poorly done. Not up to the usual Best Western standars.
This hotel was once a Hampton Inn and i was a regular guest there when i came to town. They have improved it greatly. Clean comfortable and affordable.
The A/C in the lobby wasn’t working. The gal at the front desk was very nice and accommodating at checkin. I guess there was no A/C on the first floor which is where our room was. She was nice to change our room to the 2nd floor for us. The A/C in the room was having a hard time keeping up. There were no pillow cases on our pillows. There was also stuff left on the floor in the bathroom. Coffee the following morning was terrible. Very weak. The 2 gals working the desk the morning of our checkout were nice enough, but one of them was on her cell phone the entire time. I had a question about a charge on our bill and she had to put her cell down to help me. When we checked out about 30 mins later, she was still on her cell.
No pool, being serviced. Room had coffee cups in fridge. Paper and crumbs on floor. Some sort of smoke/Co2 detector lit up the room every minute at night. Still waiting on room charge to be deleted from credit card. Was paid in full on arrival but card was charged for 2 nights after check in. Overall disappointing stay.
This hotel is newly opened and still cleaning up the small details such as ice buckets and trash cans in the room. Jamie, the front desk person was excellent. She was very patient troubleshooting any issues.
